Had a 2001-ish Camaro SS laugh and heard him tell his girl my car was ugly. 5 carlengths later he wouldn't even look at me. Funny how that works...

Other than that I've had nothing but love. Lot's of positive comments from ton of people. Even diesel truck guys, and they're usually pricks.

I am in agreement with everything you are saying except that last statement about diesel truck guys being pricks. That is soo unfair on many levels. I would be dead today if that diesel truck driver hadn't risked his life to save mine. He crawled into a burning Ford LTD after I had gotten hit on the interstate by a drugged up driver. I was knocked out and the car was engulfed in flames. The police had stopped anyone from approaching the vehicle as they were sure the gas tank was going to explode at any moment. The diesel truck driver ran past the police yelling that he could pull me out. And he did! I awoke hours later in traction in a hospital. And I know what transpired as the 30 car pile-up ,that happened to close I-12 for three hours, had been filmed by a local film crew. Their remote TV truck had been in the pile-up also. Captured on film was that brave truck driver saving my life. No way was that truck driver a prick...more so a HERO! I owe my life to that diesel truck driver. Hardly a prick.

1.) They whole mystique of the quality of German engineering is a myth! Admittedly this statement is a bit over the top for the in law's benefit, but there is some truth to it. German makes typically don't fair well in reliability statistics, check Consumer Reports. All of the big brands have had problems over the years with some, or even several models, going back years. Anyone remember Audi's sudden acceleration problems back in the 80's?
BMW (and Merc) is well ahead of Ford in JD powers most recent study. Ford is very near the bottom

Fair enough, but the same study also shows:
>American brands Buick, Cadillac, and Lincoln (a ford division) ranked ahead of Merc.
>Audi is even further down behind American brands Chevy, GMC, and RAM
>BMW is ranked behind ALL of the above.
>Mustang was actually ranked in the top 3 in the sporty category (albeit behind Camaro, which is irksome).
>In the two "Premium" categories, none of the top 3 were German brands.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the quality of German engineering.:)
My point was not that Ford is better, but rather that the notion of German engineered cars being superior to American Engineered ones is not supported by fact.

I have made a lot of believers with my 5.0. But I still get the occasional "V8, why just to burn more fuel?" coming from a Honda guy. And who hasn't received comments for being a homosexual for driving a Mustang? I just laugh because there is no comeback, they went as ignorant as it gets. Some ppl are just narrow minded, biased, brand humpers and will be buried as such. I obviously have had my fair share of Hondas and I loved them but Honda's glory days seem to be well buried in the past. I foresee manual trans V8's becoming less and less common, hence my change of heart to the current 5.0.

This is pretty dismal news for Ford, a far cry from where they were several years ago. I would love to be able to see the detail of this report. "Problems per vehicle" is a pretty coarse term, and I know it can mean anything from "the engine blew up and had to be replaced" to "I can't figure out how to work MFT."

188/100 is nearly two complaints per vehicle. I have had one, as have all the EB PP and base GT folks: our brakes howl like banshees. A widespread problem like that really puts a car in a hole. Hopefully Ford is able to address some of these quickly and get themselves back into the 100-120 range like they were in 10 years ago (if memory serves).

Just be glad you don't have a Fiat.

Does anyone know whether the 2015 V-6convertibles have gotten any recalls? I don't trust Ford to send out timely notices anymore.

21 year old punk kid says, "I see you keep the good one in the garage." He was referring to my wife's 1995 Corvette since my Mustang happened to be sitting outside. I said, "Really, you're dissing my Mustang?" He said, "Yeah, pretty much." Snot-nosed fool.

My friend's wife thought my Mustang was a Porsche.

I guess we don't need worry about people who don't know squat about cars.

Coming out of Barnes & Noble an old timer walks up, he looked homeless but he wanted to talk about the car. After checking it out he told me he loved what they did the car. He asked if I had a manual and told him I did. Then asked if I had a V8 in it and I laughed and told him I had 310 horsepower and 320 lbs of torque. He said dang, and told me that's why Mustang is the ultimate pony car. Then I told him it was a 4 pot and he went quiet and walked away...He was mumbling something under his breath but I could understand what he was saying.

One of my xbox buddies said "you got a mustang? thats a girls car". I said "I'll take a girls car that has a v8 and 435 hp over your civic any day" (he has a 2012 Civic). I don't understand haters. Besides the little jabs I get about getting a automatic, its been mostly positive.

I wish the drivers seat had power seat back. Rest of the seat is power why not the back? Also wish memory seats were a stand alone option.

The intelligence of some folks is truly staggering to contemplate (sarcasm). A Civic driver hating on a Mustang? That's like the bicycle rider calling a Harley-riding biker a sissy for having a V-Twin.

The only time I take a Civic driver seriously is if they have a Type R. Same with any hatchback owner, to be honest. You either own the hot version of said hatchback or you keep your mouth shut on the topic of my performance car. ;)

And even then... at the end of the day, it's still a Civic.
