I've had three Cyclone powered vehicles that have gotten great gas mileage and longevity.
One vehicle is a Ford 150, one is a Mazda6, and one is my CyclonePony. Here's what I've found for great mileage with this engine...K&N drop in, 93 octane fuel, and Royal Purple oil. On my 2015 Mustang vert...
Sorry for your hassle and please give us the "post mortem"... I've been lucky with these 3.7
Cyclone engines...truck had 169,000 and Mazda 6 has 134,000 and Mustang has 10,000 with no problems whatsoever. I insist on using full synthetic Royal Purple motor oil in all my vehicles maybe that...
I'm just "shiftless" with my present Cyclonic Pony, but my last 3.7 Cyclone powered vehicle loved to rev to 2800 before shifts...I don't know how that affected engine longevity as I sold it at 165,000 miles. Only oil and filter changes on that motor...no problems whatsoever.
I didn't think it was possible for Alton to ascend any higher on the "Ultimate Mustang Ladder"... But, I can't wait to see great pictures of his new sweetheart! I'm going to miss all those great vert pictures. Please keep up your high standards of keeping us all along for "your sweet rides"...
Only people that believe that the "laws of physics" don't apply to them don't wear their seat belts. Such a person, such as Princess Di, would be alive today had she been wearing one!
A Camaro convertible, overpriced or not, is the only Camaro you can see out of, providing the top is down. It must be really expensive as I've never seen a new one on the streets.
I had a couple of young girls driving alongside me in a BMW ask me if they could take a couple of pictures of my car as we were pulling up to a stoplight. One girl driving leaned over and asked, "Is that the new Jag convertible?". No I said. I told them it was a Mustang. As the top was down...
So let me get this straight, the GT mufflers from the axles back "just bolt up to the V-6 convertible cars stock placement"? No cutting required? Completely simple...even this Old
Dufus could do? What am I missing? It can't be that simple, huh?
In the old days, we used to say we were going to take our cars out for an "Italian Tuneup"...taking it out on the highway and making some full throttle pulls...to "blow the carbon out"! It always seemed to work or maybe we were just trying to justify our actions.
^^^You and I have the same take on our 3.7s. I'm going to place the top down now and cruise a bit this morning...just wish I could decide on an exhaust with no "drone" that didn't cost too much. Almost bought the Roush axle-backs.
Wow...so welcome to your new addiction! You surely jumped into Mustangs at the high end of the power/fun curve. So did you buy the Competition Orange Mustang to match your snowboarding ski jacket? Or are you just getting a jump on Halloween with that speedy pumpkin? Either way...welcome aboard!
OK, 8,299 Mustang sales in August not counting overseas sales, so how many by engine type? GTs ?, Ecoboost ?, and V-6 ? In the US? Also, does anyone know how many sold to rental car companies?
As an "Old Dufus", your second picture above^^^ is why I didn't want the premium A/C unit...that's too complicated and busy for this Old Dufus to use while cruising Texas Hill Country twisties. Einstein said it best, " Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler".
