I am in WA. Its been under 45 and sometimes low 20's in the morning. My whole car is iced over. I really didnt feel comfortable driving on these. I only took the stang when it was near 40. They take a while to warm up and dealing with these idiot drivers up here i wanted confidence in my tires. I got the BFG Gforce Comp2 A/S. Love them. Handle the cold great and i dont get that low speed turning wheel hop from cold butt Pirellis.
I just purchased a set of Continental ExtremeContact DW's. Still waiting on them, but even here in Texas the stock pirelli's are terrible. 55*F out and the car will not get traction at all until 3rd gear.
I'm keeping the original Pirelli's until they wear out then replacing with Conti DWS or BFG G-Force Comp-2 A/S. I'll never use the summer tires to their full potential and don't want to keep 2 sets of tires.
I have BFG g-Force Sport COMP-2. I haven't had a chance to feel them out with aggressive driving, but just running around town and doing some highway cruising, they are great. They are a summer tire so they do get a little hard at lower temps, but I don't think they're as bad as the Pirellis were. I've been down to about 30deg and I think they're still a little better than the Pirellis were at 45-50deg.
I wish I had more experience with them on this car so I could give a better review. I don't see any reason to believe they will not be good when driving more aggressively, especially in warmer temps. I had them on my GTI and loved them, but that's a different application I guess. Lighter car, fwd, less power.
