I'm probably going to go with a truck for a few years, maybe the GT will have a new tranny and motor that doesn't sound like a 1990's oldsmobile :ninja:
Mine is making the same noise, but louder and more often than the video shows. It made it when I had LTH's, as well as the stock manifolds I just put back on. I wouldn't believe it was a heat shield, unless the shield was hitting the body, which it doesn't sound like that's the case. I've had an...
I've gotten some very 'shaky' pedal feel after some 4th gear high rpm pulls. Shaky as in TONS of vibration in the pedal while depressing or releasing it after going to redline in 4th. Only lasts for about 1-2 shifts and is rare, but I can see what you're getting at.
Are you talking about the clunking sounds when you push the clutch in while going slow? Mine bugs the ever living hell out of me. When moving the car a little bit while parking, say, reversing to make a three point turn, when feathering the clutch (not letting it all the way out) it makes a damn...
Drive shaft and half-shafts will be needed. Boost a pump (if not a better system), injectors, oil pump gears, dampener (maybe), clutch, possibly new rear end, save money to replace the MT82, etc.
It aint just the tubro kit cost lol
I have headers on stock catback. I also have a loose connection that I'm too lazy to fix (right where the midpipe meets the resonator), it does burble / gurgle when shifting slowly as you described. Totally normal.
Hindsight is always 20/20. Don't let it eat away at you. If you think about it, you've set your car up with some great supporting mods for a S/C! Now, go out and buy a blower and have some more fun.
I had my pypes installed by someone local (live in apartment, no jacks). He told me he did have to unbolt the mounts and lift it slightly. Just use some 2x4's under a jack and you'll be able to get it out of the way.
He also told me they cut a wrench in half to get to one of the bolts, but am...
Does the motor feel much different when going through the rpm ranges? Always wondered if it hangs as much when letting off the gas or if it climbs slightly faster.
I would want to swap trans with an '18 if I was able to find a wrecked '18 only. Other than that, I would prefer to just trade the car in, too much trouble and $$ to swap if I didn't get a really good deal on the '18 trans.
Yes, I tried it without the spring for a couple of days and didn't like the 1/4" or so of play at the top of the pedal so I put it back on. I put the steeda spring in about 4-5 months ago and loved it over the stock spring. Still get different engagement points every once in a while.
The...
hmmm. Spring in the pressure plate. Makes me very nervous because my car is starting to 'lurch or jump' when slowly releasing the clutch. I haven't even launched it or done line lock yet! First manual I've owned that I didn't like the transmission from day one.
Mine does this as well. When pushing the clutch in while creeping it sounds like the whole drive line is stumbling over itself because it doesn't have pressure/load anymore. Very annoying, and you can even hear it 'jangle' around when not in gear and slowly going over a speed bump.
