Not usually the case for track days (on track). For racing and sometimes time trials, non FIA 1 piece seats are usually fine but require a seat brace that is not required with FIA seats (and mounts).

The Corbeau Evolution is a 2 piece recliner, so not road race legal anytime, but shouldn't be an issue for track days and some time trials.

The OP said he "roll raced", which I took as street raced.
Does anyone who what the rules are for the sportsmen drag racing classes?
NASA does not allow non-FIA rated seats even in HPDE. Hence why I said to double check before he spends the money.

So the stock seat is illegal for NASA HPDE? That seems like a good way to get rid of all those needy HPDE 1 people.

I have run multiple track days in the Mustang with various organizations with aftermarket Recaro Sport seats with no issue.

I have raced for years in the SRF that does not have a FIA seat (only 2 spec legal seat options, neither of which is FIA rated). Actually try and find a FIA rated Formula car style seat.

Yeah, I gave up on NASA when they wanted to force me to make my car illegal for SCCA events to run their events. Always check the rules of your intended sanctioning bodies or track day organizations.

Non-FIA rated *aftermarket* seats.....corrected

Not trying to argue here, just stating to check the rulebook before spending money.
