Aftermarket, assuming they make 5000 2020 GT500’s. You will sell 5000 of them! A simple clip set up, no tools required, to remove the rain tray from under the hood!! I’ll even donate my car as a test car if you can figure something out. Maybe just a simple lock lever using existing mont clips.

can you put up a photo of what you are talking about for us non-GT500 owners who are curious to see what you are talking about? Ford is notorious for leaving out details that are helpful, like us GT guys still getting a hood prop rod if ya know what I mean. (hey Ford 1964 called, they want their prop rod back, LOL)

I'd just leave it in unless you are going to the track. I believe that is the intent. If there isnt already a design, do it and patent the idea

They are not limiting them to just 2020. There will be a lot more than 5000 made, I’m guessing the run will be 20K+

I haven't taken mine out yet, but i believe it about 10ish 7mm screws holding it on. I will leave mine on for the most part, and have my cordless with me for when I do want to remove it.

I imagine it is held in there so well because of the air ripping in thorough the grill, and out through it. I cant imagine a simple quick release setup keeping it in there when out ripping it up the streets.

Iam going to remove my rain tray and just admire it setting on a shelf in my garage. I don't drive my muscle cars on rainy days. Does anyone know the "dimensions" of the rain tray???? I might just have the dealer remove it assuming that it will fit in the trunk on the way home.

Yep, and since JW has one of the few, I'd get off my ass and come up with a design and patent it. You would be the @Epiphany of the rain tray.

the cost to build, and subsequent retail, a quick release is likely more than the price of a harbor freight small socket, or even batterpower hand held sock, either one, and keep in the glove compartment

I like to disassemble things.
I'll look at it when or if I ever get my own car.

You could try 1/4 turn dzus fasteners. I’ve used them on my motorcycles to replace the stock fasteners for the fairings and bellypans. They work nicely.

That might be a great idea, it’s a torqued bit screw and just a pain,

Can someone explain why'd you want to remove the rain tray? Does it look better? Improve performance?

Would removing it reduce under hood temps?
