10.66 is hauling ass.

But..1.727 60’ is going to be a problem. I doubt the DCT trans can allow much better, no matter how much you modify the engine. Red eye with a torque converter is going to be a problem.

Why do you think the DCT trans won't allow much better?

He was on a throughly prepped track, and wasn’t spinning, even at IIRC, the max rpm setting.

The DCT, like a regular manual, can only adjust clutch slippage to altar the launch. I’m not sure if slipping the clutch more, or the opposite, will gain much in the 60’.

And what if the "max setting" were elevated?

I bet will happen, then the limits will be explored. How much abuse can this DCT handle?

But, it’s no torque converter.

The limits will be tested in short order no doubt. I'm fairly certain the limits lie not in the shafts/gears/etc but rather in the clutches. There's always room to safely exceed the stock threshold but how far remains to be seen. I do believe you'll see improved times even without exceeding the stock system parameters.

This is my fear, like the 13-14s with "Clutch Protection". Hopefully it won't be that way.

Clutches will go 1st, once they are upgraded, 1st and 2nd gear will be the next failure point

Why would 1st gear be a "failure point?"

They talk a little about the limitations of the stock DCT
Jared rides with Billy Johnson from Ford Performance & chats with him (as well as some Tremec guys) about the transmission, tuning & performance of the new 2020 Shelby GT500. They cover the performance aspects, details like the carbon fiber wheels & even which mode to put the car in for the fastest 1/4 mile times (and why!). Check it out.

Ill post pics if i can find them, when it shifts 1st to 2nd, it will shear the teeth on both gear sets, and then the teeth could affect other parts as well

Torque truncation in the lower gears, yes, I heard that. Regardless, 1st gear isnt typically the one to be concerned about.

Regarding teeth shearing....why am I sensing that any photos you have are not of the DCT in the GT500?

Obviously not going to be from the tremec , yet lol. But every dcts 1st failure point from more power, is the clutches, once clutches are put in that can take more power and clamping force, the next failure point is always 1 and 2 gear. Bmw, Porsche, gtr, always

Also, when i spoke with tremec in vegas, the facial expressions solidified my concern of said gears, and thats when they said they limit power in1st and 2nd intentionally
