I LOVE this car as well so far. But I have the same two gripes that you do. I daily this car and the brake squeal is annoying AF....especially on a brand new $60k car. Nothing like pulling up to a light and have people admiring your car, and then wincing as the car screeches to a stop.

And yes, this car to me constantly feels like I'm holding it back...it wants to go and to be revved out...but I don't really have anywhere to do it in my daily commute. I guess that's not really a gripe, but more about my driving habits more than anything. I make up for it on the weekends, but I guess as a daily driver it's overkill. But it makes me smile whenever I turn it on, so it's doing its job.

You should see how many people gripe about their $250,000 Ferrari's doing the exact same thing. Aggressive pads will have oddities.

The song of our people. Love it! The car has a personality. You can hear the transmission doing it's thing. How about the clicks and clunks from the differential? Piston slap? The engine vibrates and buzzes. The exhaust note goes without saying. The screechy brakes simply announce your arrival to the Camrys of the world. Sorta like a trumpet fanfare.

The car is talking to you! Many cars are numb these days. The GT350 isn't! Be thankful!

So, not having taken my GT350 to the track yet, is it even possible to bed them in without driving reckless? I suppose if I try at night, with no traffic around here...

Yeah, I'm having a tough time determining where I'm going to bed-in the brakes. I researched how to do it last night and it requires 3 to 4 medium stops from 45mph, but not actually stop, reduce speed to 15mph then 8 to 10 more aggressive stops from 60 mph, but again not actually stop, reduce speed to 15mph. Not sure where I can do this at.

If you're city driving you're just wasting pad material bedding your brakes in. The light braking required in town just scrapes off the bedded material.

That's what I was curious about, if I not going to track it and I bed-in the brakes then drive on the street, wouldn't normal driving just remove the pad material that was applied from bedding them?

LOL, I have a Nissan Altima and Chevy Equinox for daily drivers, that's about as blah as you get. When the brakes squeal on these I know I need new pads. Not sure when I will need pads on the GT350... they squeal every time I drive it. I guess I'll have the dealership inspect the pads in about 10K miles.

You will know when you need pads on GT350... A light will come up on the dash, and you will hear a very annoying screeching noise all the time, unlike what you hear now. I mean loud. It is because the wear sensor which will start touching the brake disk

Yeah that noise is like nails on a chalkboard...eek.

It is my understanding that bedding in the brakes does 2 things:
1. Applies thin layer of pad materiel to rotor surface. (This may, in fact, wear away with street driving. I do not know.)
2. It alos helps to cook out the pad binders from the pad materiel. That's why you have to stop pretty hard a few times to get the pads up to temp. You can actually see this occur by looking at the edge of a new pad which was just bedded. You will see a milky white uneven coloration (results of the heat) on the edges which will show how much got cooked out.

So I am not sure the advice to not bother bleeding in your brakes is correct. I do it on all my vehicles. YMMV FWIW. :ford:

Says you're in KY; having spent most of my last year in Louisville it seems like there is nowhere in KY that is more than 20 minutes from a pretty empty road. Any country road will do, just gap the cars behind you by several hundred yards before you get on the binders. I've done this on roads near racetracks on several occasions, and I've done it on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago at night.
