WA is a front plate state, but I haven't drilled my GT350 bumper and mounted one. From what I can tell, it's not worth their time to hit you with a ticket. I see lots of cars without front plates. Some are old beaters with plate brackets where they clearly took off the plate. It's rare to...
Not many around here either. I didn't see one in the wild for over a year after I got mine in October '16. Since then, I've seen 5 and only once when I was driving mine. We spotted each other and waved.
Yep! I'm data-obsessed. I've kept a spreadsheet of fuel mileage for my vehicles for a long time. For the GT350 it shows actual mileage vs. the computer-calculated mileage tank by tank. While I won't say it's exactly 1 mpg off, over time it is in error by about 1 mpg.
Here's the chart. Note...
The transmission needs to get broken in. I've bought a number of new manual cars and they all took over 5000 miles to get really smooth. My GT350 has taken longer. Now at a little over 10000 miles, it's gotten really nice.
I did have a bit of trouble with it popping out of 1st or staying in...
Well, I need a little clarification here. Do you mean chronological age or intellectual age? Sometimes I experience a wide gap between the two. Other times, not so much. Despite the variable gap, I have yet to see my intellectual age exceed my chronological age.
That's one thing I like about the car. It's not emblazoned with emblems or decals. It speaks for itself. It's fun when people squint at it wondering what it is.
Suggestion: Go to O'Reilly's and buy some door-edge guards. Cut off a short section and slip it over the hood edge in that area. You can either leave it in place or just slip it on when you think somebody will be messing with the wipers (aka, the dealer).
Hmmm... I had the opposite problem. The factory knob loosened up after about 1000 miles. I tightened it, but then it was mis-aligned. I considered some purple Loctite (222) then decided to get a CJ Pony Parts knob. Put it on with the blue stuff and it's been fine ever since. Purple Loctite...
Local Ford dealer tried to convince me the non-R they had was an R. He pointed out the circled R and I asked him to point out the R options on the window sticker. Stalemate. The same dealer a couple months later had a real R and listed it on their website for $207,000. Yep over $200k...
It's not just Ford. Last week a buddy had his Vette at the dealer for a repair. (yes, I admit to being friends with a Vette owner and yes, that thing needs a lot of work) Anyhow, the dealer called to say his car was ready, but..... The "lot boy" backed it into another car. Scraped and...
I'm an "older" guy. Graybeard they call me. No hair on top. I >know< it's not me they're photographing. And there's no hot babe in the passenger seat.
I was driving down I-5 one time and saw a guy taking video of the car. Another time, a woman followed me into a parking lot to take a photo...
ABSOLUTELY! You're spot on! The insidious aspect of ESD is that it can induce latent failures. Just because your card worked when your reinstalled it, doesn't mean it won't fail due to ESD effects sometime in the (maybe near) future.
I'm an EE and we can't even enter the production areas...
As another poster said above: It's like driving a new car again! Mine has been hiding out in the garage during the winter weather. Got it all shined up and on the road again. Life is good.
