These have been the 2 greatest weeks of car ownership compared to all my other notable cars I have owned (Slammed Acura TL, E90 328i, E90 335i, 2016 STI, F80 M3). Hitting that engine start button followed by the exhaust button gives me the tingles. I developed a huge interest in these when one day I was heading home and saw an avalanche gray GT350 casually take off from a light. The sound of the exhaust made my ears rise and just seeing this thing roll.. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I came home, pissed off my wife with the idea of buying one, busted out my laptop, headed to all the online car buying sites, and started my search. I quickly found how the price of these was shooting up and then found this forum. Made a post, learned a bunch of things, and then a forum member here (shout out @shogun32) pointed me at one particular 2018 GT350 that was within a reasonable range for me to check out. A few days after starting talks with the dealership, I ventured out to actually sit in one. I tried to keep my emotions in order and not buy on impulse after taking it out of the dealer lot. From every car buying experience, I have learned something new each time. This time, I walked away and gave myself the weekend to think about this purchase (and try to haggle of course). I couldn't get the car off my mind. I tossed and turned all night, I knew I needed to have this thing in my garage. I ventured out again, wrote a check, and bought the sucker.

Washed the car and did a quick shoot after some cars and covid (coffee). If you're on IG, check out my page if you wanna follow the car's adventures! @gt350asmr

How's the GT350 compares to F80 M3? Congrats on the car and enjoy driving!

Lollol, Thanks!

The F80 M3 did everything extremely well, I was surprised to find that the ride quality was pretty similar in both cars in the comfort suspension settings. But the GT350 feels more solid in the corners and chassis seems to be stiffer (I have 0 creaks and cracks when going down my driveway at an angle). The immediate power delivery was pretty nice in the M3 thanks to the turbos, but I am learning that I prefer NA and revving the motor out for the power; seems more engaging to me. Transmission feels better in the GT350 as well. The biggest thing that the M3 was lacking was driver engagement; it just felt kind of dull to me and most of that is due to the lack of exciting exhaust note. You will hear the same tale from many modern M owners, the cars kind of.. well... fart. Its a love it or hate it camp on the BMW forums. I think I should have gone with an E90 M3 back then. It is hard to compete with a BMW interior though, that for sure is superior.

Yeah, and steering in I6 M3's is kind of num for my liking. I was considering latest M2 competition. But because of steering I went with GT350. My benchmark for M3 was E92 for sure.

tighten up the IRS (brace and bushings) and I think you eyes will bulge.

Congratulations OP!
Iā€™m 62 and have owned quite a few cars with just a small handful of what Iā€™d call pure fun cars. Iā€™m pretty practical with cars so this purchase was a little out of the norm for me.
I must say this is the most exciting car Iā€™ve owned, it brings great joy every time I drive it.
Itā€™s even more exciting having friends drive it.
Enjoy it as I think NA cars like this will be gone forever in the not to distant future.
BTW Kona Blue is breathtaking.
