Modding cars is supposed to be a fun hobby.

If the thought of modding your car is stressing you out (as evidenced by your post), then don't do it.

Also, if you don't have the cash to fix any problems or revert back to stock...and I'm talking disposable cash (that won't effect any of your financial obligations or lifestyle), then do not mod your car.

When I first purchased my car I had the same concerns and did not want to chance voiding my 3/36 warranty. All I wanted was a catback system to improve the exhaust sound and I was happy.

Well, the mod bug finally got me and I will be installing my Whipple in the next few weeks. As for my factory warranty, oh well....

Bottom line, if modding the car doesn't feel right just yet - don't do it. You'll know it when it feels right. :headbang:

Mustangs take mods very well, the engineers at Ford know we are going to mod our cars thats why "ford performance" exists..Do your mods little by little then before you know it you will have a better all around car if you choose wisely!

Ashiq73 if you want to upgrade your audio to Sync3 Read thru this thread http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54439. OEMradio can upgrade you for far less money than the Ford dealerships. If I had found this thread I would not have treaded in 2015 base GT for 2016 GT Premium. I could have got the sound system I wanted for far less money.

I don't understand why you would want to mod the suspension if you have no plans to track or drag race the car???? You started off by saying how much you love the car the way it is. Listen to yourself!!! No mods = now worries from a warranty stand point. I ended up buying more than I really needed because I bought Steeda Progressive Sport Springs and then didn't install them. I still have the un-opened box in the garage. When I really thought about having a car that was lowered in a place that snows and no other car I'd be sorry. Turned out to be a good call, we had a pretty snowy winter this past season. I also just purchased a new house and the entry to the driveway is pretty steep and I'd probably scrape the shit out of my front end going in and out. I'd say base any changes on something you really NEED or HAVE TO HAVE and not just do it cause everyone else does.

My worthless $.02.

I'd say go for:
- Catback exhaust (a must have) you will only love it more and nothing to worry about regarding warranty
- Suspension mods (FRPP kit or swaybars/springs/vertical mounts/IRS subframe.... list goes on) - Do this one step at a time depending on your needs. Research each and every part you are going to install. You won't regret it. You'll love it more.

You'll enjoy that a lot by itself as the car is plenty fast for the streets anyway.

Once you've had the car for sometime you automatically won't be as afraid to mod it as you may be now. Thats when you can mod your engine (start with Intake and a tune) But for now just go for catback and some suspension mods.

Cheers!

You should see the build my car is going through right now. All the parts from engine to trans to suspension rear axles exhaust... Etc. From completely stock to a wild animal. Gonna be a 10 sec n/a car when done. It should be done end of this week or begining of next week! And i cant wait to get her back!!! The car has 2500 miles on it!

Dude it's a $30k car not a Ferrari or something. A base GT costs a little more than a loaded Camry. It's a car. If you don't like the exhaust change it to something different. Don't like the wheels switch them up.

There are literally thousands of threads created by people that have made various mods to their car. Go off their experiences. Read up, ask questions. Anyone here is willing to offer their two cents and expertise to help you in the decision making process. It can be overwhelming since there are hundreds of choices and brands and everyone has an opinion about them all.

The only mods I've done to my 14 is the exhaust using Ford Racing Mufflers and a stock set of Ford GT500 OTA pipes, stock 19" Ford wheels from a premium 14 Mustang, and the Ford Racing oil separator.

My warranty is/was important to me and I don't have the money lying around in case something major would have broke because of some mechanical mod I had done.

For what I want, a mostly stock car is good enough. Others are willing to except more risk or just want more out of the car than stock offers.

Well doesn't the car 'float like a boat' once it's at speed or that's the complaint I've read numerous times. I think suspension improvements are more important than drivetrain upgrades as they improve handling, stability and precision when steering. Does the car need to be lowered with suspension upgrades; I believe that's adjustable with coilover setups.

Agreed; at the end of the day it's a Mustang - not a Porsche or Ferrari. These cars are made to be modded and that's the beauty of them; you can customize the car however you like. Not sure why factory warranty is that imperative, if you have the $$$$ to spend on upgrades then you have the money to repair the car.
