Last year I had the Engine Replaced due to Excessive oil consumption
Then the Brakes replaced due to manufacture defect.
Then the Rear Spoiler cracked
Now at 18,500 miles the A/C Compressor failed.

What else can I
expect to have fail? how do I ask ford to give me an Extended Warranty due to multiple issues with this car?
Maybe I should cut my losses and trade it in.. I am a bit disappointed in ford.

IIRC My AC Repair list:

1. Replaced switch
2. Replaced evap core
3. Replaced compressor, and when they tested it, found debris in the line, so they had to install a whole new AC system.

Each is a separate repair visit, probably totalling 2-3 weeks in the shop.

Now it's back in again for intermittent AC problem, among a couple other things. The main problem is, there is no other car like ours. I think my options are to accept the fact I may never have working AC for as long as I own this car, or get rid of it.

sorry OP for your headaches. no fun for sure.

btw, do you guys know if the BASE Care ESP covers all possible A/C issues? it lists these items for coverage. it seems like it would cover any A/C problems...

• A/C Clutch
• A/C Clutch Bearings
• A/C Compressor
• A/C Compressor Clutch Switch
• A/C Compressor Head
• A/C Compressor Seals
• A/C Condenser
• Evaporator
• Field Coil
• Pulley

Which model year? Is A/C problem still prevalent on the newer MYs?

Me too! Had engine replaced and the AC compressor, and the rear block plate replaced as well....I'm doing good now.....hoping nothing else takes a shit...so far no issues with brakes and I checked my spoiler and no cracks. The 350, Its like having a smoking hot redhead GF that's good in bed but otherwise might just go nutty on you at any moment. You enjoy it but at times its like ugh, not again.

I’ve posted the compressor replacement procedures from the Helm in the GT350 Basics sticky.

Try owning one of these redheads if you want a crazy redhead ;$ mines the one on the left. Sexy, but crazy!

I can’t afford to ask the dealer how much to replace my out of warranty leaking AC, so I just put $12 of refrigerant in each spring and kick the can down the road. The windows are never up anyway.

Was annoying but refreshingly free to have the dealer fix my ac twice in my R.

If you have not already, here’s some helpful advice and a way to prod Ford:

Call the Ford 800#, ask to speak to a Regional CSR. Explain to the CSR the problems you have had since new car ownership; be firm but polite (be professional, screaming/cussing wont get you anywhere) and share your extreme frustration regarding the multiple defects, the down time and the disgust for the brand due to multiple manufacturing defects. Mention how your Shelby no longer has a numbers matching driveline due to engine replacement which devalues its provenance and now have to deal with yet another defect due to premature A/C failure...

Demand that due to the ongoing troubles with the vehicle you feel you should be compensated by way of:
1) Extended ESP Warranty up to 75k (or 100k if available)

OR

2) Ford Maintenance Plan (usually coverage is up to 45k and covers free oil changes, wipers and many other benefits that you would normally have to pay for when in for service).

State to the CSR that you can’t believe that after plunking down X$$$ for a Shelby, that the ongoing issues have been nothing but a displeasure in ownership. Tell them you have been more than patient with the matter and if they are unwilling to make you whole that you will go public by posting how as a new Ford consumer you have to continually deal with manufacturing defects on a top tier Ford product.

If you don’t get anywhere with the CSR, demand to speak to his/her Supervisor.

The above should get you some traction.
