Hey I’m looking for a Quad active exhaust for my 2016 GT. I don’t want to spend big money and have a budget of €1700 -€2000 (£1450-1700).
Have found this but don’t know much about this company. Not a fan of the rolled ends but beggars can’t be choosers I guess.
Doesn’t seem too easy to find a quad active for these.
Any other options anyone can point me to ?
This is the one I was looking at.

did you post the link, my sensi skills this morning are a bit lacking. I have an xForce Varex fitted to my 17GT but that's just the single outlet per silencer as anything else required some cutting of the rear valence or the later style one fitted which was a bit more cost / work. Roush being the one that comes up the most for quad tip options.

I wanted something that came with either an RF remote fob or a physical switch and not a phone app so that didn't help my searching (2020 when i got mine), faffing with an app on the phone while on the move doesn't appeal to me or the local boys/girls in blue

Your right I forgot to post the link. It’s up now. The roush is just so expensive and I think discontinued now from what I read. I agree I’d rather the keyfob than an app. Also don’t like the look of the roush dial in the cabin. It should be black rather than silver.

Off the car, that looks to be quite a nicely fabricated system (and I quite like the internally perforated tail pipes), but the on car picture (from their own advert) suggests that fitment isn't great, or they didn't take much care with adjustment :

It would do them some favours to fix that, and to show the fitment better from multiple angles with high res images.

I would ask before spending €'s ... :like:

Note : I have never heard one, but I know others have commented that a straight piped / unsilenced coyote (essentially what that system is when the valves are open) has a very harsh tone i.e. loud, but not nice ...

They have more photos on Facebook that look straight. It definitely does them no favours posting the photos of the crooked one. Did you listen to the video of the sound on the website ?

I probably sound really old and grumpy now, but ...

I don't do facebook (that's the old bit).

Was it to hard for them to include some moving pictures to go with the sound clips (that's the grumpy bit).

Exhaust recordings are typically very difficult to get right - and hugely influenced by the speakers you later listen to them on.

I know what my car sounds like in reality v what it sounds like on some recordings I have done v how much difference I hear / what tones are highlighted when I view them on youtube from my phone, my work laptop (via headset) and then the home TV.

Ref the sound of a straight piped coyote - just ask on the open forum for opinions from people that have heard them (I haven't). You will always get outliers, but I think you will get a good idea from the bulk of the comments :like:

Is that being polite, meaning they sound shit, all volume, no tone?

I don’t do farcebook either, I won’t even promote my business on it, hateful platform!

Other than it being obnoxiously loud, 'Drone' & 'Trumpety' are words I seem to recall when straight pipes are discussed :like:

I don't think drone would be noticeable on a drive by / youtube / sound recording clip ?

Am I better to get a custom one made then ? I presume there’s no other option other than Roush ?

I wouldn't know what to recommend sorry.

I would be cautious going down the custom route unless they have done one before and you could talk to the owner / listen to it yourself - I guess a true one off could come in anywhere on the loud / quiet / smooth / harsh scales.

The quad pipe x Force looks nicely made (3" / full tig / adjustable tips / resonated x pipe etc) :

@raptor17GT should be able to give you some good feedback on sound / fitment / overall quality etc :like:

I was looking at them last night but will that fit the 2016 model ? It’s listed as 2018+ but is that only because they came with active exhausts so will plug and play vs having to wire them into the 2016 ?
I’m new to mustangs only have it a few weeks so still learning about what works and what doesn’t.

yeah the one i got fitted ^^ had the same suitcase midbox and not the X or H pipe as the quad exit was for facelift models. Sound wise, when fully closed it is as quiet if not quieter than stock, pretty good for home stealth approaches / departures and when fully open is a bit fruity. I have some terrible video taken, old phone with a mic hanging out the back of the boot so the quality is er tbh crap! One thing for sure, the facelift models are louder in Sport and Race mode than the Varex but starting up with the valves closed, the Varex will remain closed and not bark on start up before reclosing the valves. Another point, cold start with the valves open, meh it's a bit raspy I'd say

2nd through 3rd - YouTube

all the above with the valves open, closed it is like stock so i didn't bother lol. As @WD Pro says custom could end up anywhere on the scales but in theory with an valved exhaust, closed should be no different from stock unless you fit an X or H pipe at same time..

Looking at the advert, it suggests this is a stand alone system rather than having to interreact with the 18+ active exhaust :

Other than that, I believe the only difference across the years in the S500 GT exhaust fitment is the rear valance (which you will have to replace or modify anyway if you want to go to a quad design) :like:

I managed to fit an active exhaust to mine all in for under £600 using a OEM 2018 exhaust as I wanted the quad tip look but didn't want to spend a fortune at the time on the Ford Performance GT350 Active kit that was £3k+

This is how I did it:

-Found a used 2018+ OEM exhaust, in my case it was one from a Bullitt with the black tips. managed to find it cheap on eBay - £300

-MP Concepts Quad Tip Diffuser - £180
https://nemesisuk.com/collections/m...mp-concepts-mu15-18gt-df-quad-mustang-2015-21
Originally, I just cut my rear diffuser but it looked messy so took a punt on this. Fitment is tight but acceptable.
The standard colour matched lower diffuser can be cut in a way that you can reuse it should you need to return to stock.

*I believe any 2018+ catback or axle back should work but might need some adjustment on the hangers to centre the tips. My friend has fitted 2018+ Borla S-type actives to his with some adjustments to the hangers.

-Valve Controller from Aliexpress - £100
https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/3283...002445253!sea!UK!0&curPageLogUid=yfz5UcMmP5WN

These are almost identical to what is used on the OEM 2018+ cars. Only difference is OEM cars run PWM so they can be mapped to the different driving modes, where as these are much simpler.

I have since removed the resonator and fitted a Borla Switchfire X pipe which sounds really good in my opinion.

Thanks for that. I was hoping to go with a H pipe as I didn’t want a raspy exhaust. The x-force doesn’t seem to come with an o-t

That sounds great !! now to find one here in Ireland where there’s hardly any mustangs 😁 I’ll be in Wales in a couple of weeks I could also have a look there but don’t think it’ll fit in the boot of a mustang 😁
That give me some hope that it can be done without spending a fortune like you said 3k.
I can then get an H pipe too.
did you do a writeup or photos of how you got it to work with the AliExpress valve ? Presume it’s not rocket science.
