I have a 2019 on order...

Working shifts I'm either arriving home in the early hours or leaving home very early...presumably I can set the quiet mode to cover a period of say 2300 - 0600 ? Also if I'm travelling home during the time when quiet mode is set to activate will it automatically engage whilst I'm driving or does it only switch on during start up ?

Also a side question....on a 2019 does the interior badge above the glove box still say "Mustang since 1964" ?

Thanks.

PS Still waiting for my VIN

Yes, quiet start is set for a certain time period - such as 2:30-6am. I have it set for the entire day since I can can still tell it's a v8 even with it on.

The sound mode you select to drive in is controlled just like the steering or transmission modes - it's not on a clock. I keep it in quiet and then it changes to a more aggressive sound when I use sport (or track mode).

Badge just says Mustang on it now and is not a flat plate like the 15-17s

Because the since 1964 was "Meant" to be for the 50 year thing, they left it running all through the 15-17's. Hence losing it now.

Try hit it with some heat from a hair dryer to soften up the double sided tape.

Yep jumped in mine at 6am and it was in the quiet mode I had set on the timer but I still probably woke up the 2 babies around me and my lazy ass teenager with his bedroom just behind the car lol. I’m putting a white gear knob on Friday which will be my first mod

Just got my warranty through and read the small print, interior trim, door seals etc and water ingress not covered

Eh? I thought it was a new car in which case trim is covered for defects for the first 12 months
TBH not sure but the paperwork says that it’s excluded.

Regardless of the Warranty - if bought new.... then the "product" has to be "fit for purpose" - i.e. not leak water

Sale of Goods Act summary
The Sale of Goods Act 1979 requires all goods that are bought or sold in the UK to be:
  • as described - the good should match any sample you were shown
  • of satisfactory quality - any defect or issue should have been made clear to you when you bought the goods
  • fit for purpose - you should be able to use the good for its everyday purpose, as agreed with the seller

Now the issue with this is - how long (from new) does this apply? the law states "within a reasonable time"

- this is where the warranty vs Sale of Goods act argument might come into play -

however - in UK law , the word "reasonable" works both ways...

I would love to see Ford try to wriggle out of a claim for water ingress on a car (bought from new, reasonably kept and treated, safely driven, serviced according to Ford plan) within 3 years from purchase!

just my thoughts!

Are you looking at the Ford Direct paperwork (which doesn't apply) or the Base warranty paperwork in the service manual ?

Ford Proterct Warranty-Terms and Conditions Clause 4.2 (What is not covered) last updated 10th September 2018. It's a 4 page separate warranty paperwork just received from the dealer.
