I keep seeing sound clips for this system on Instagram with people trying to hype them up, and all I hear is straight piped VQ mixed with 2000s civic.

Wonder if this guy/company knows he just lost an entire community? @TreeFiddyAre are you gonna provide all this feedback back up the chain? Refund?
Well... I’m doing my best not to completely bash this setup because, to be fair, the craftsmanship is absolutely top notch. The quality of the fabrication and attention to detail are honestly impressive.

That being said... the sound is just nowhere near what I was expecting. 😬

I think it starts to come alive above 6,500 rpm, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to really explore that because the car is currently fighting me with a P0300 code after the install, and I’m not comfortable leaning on it until that issue is sorted out.

As far as the resolution goes, I was offered the option to try the "Tri-Y" version, which would essentially convert the system into a more traditional exhaust configuration. The issue is the wait time would be until September, and honestly, that’s just not something I’m willing to do. I want this car back on the road, running correctly, and sounding like the Voodoo it was meant to be.

I’ve seen a few YouTube clips of other Mustangs with this same setup, and unfortunately they sound almost identical to mine in person — and it’s just not the character I was chasing. It’s hard to explain, but it’s missing that exotic, high-revving personality that made me fall in love with this engine.

Maybe I’m being overly critical because I had such high expectations, but when you spend this kind of money and time modifying a car, you have a vision in your head. Right now, it just isn’t matching that vision.

The search continues to get the TreeFiddyAre back to sounding as special as it feels to drive.

side note this is the sound you get :

Honestly by the looks of the total overall header tube lengths I’d wager the 8-4-1 is limiting the power peak to the 6,500 rpm range. Not exactly in the VooDoo or Coyote happy zone.
Are there any independent dyno tests on the 8-4-1 VooDoo combination ?

@TreeFiddyAre
Is this how your VooDoo sounds with the latest 8-4-1
Yes... and to be honest it sounds better on the computer speakers then it does in person. It does not sound exotic, it sounds like trash until around 6500+ rpm thennnnn it comes into its own ,but up until then its pure Japanese unrefined rasp trash ear puking noise ...had to say it .
Side note- the car is in the shop now getting Longtubes/Corsa Double Helix/OEM Muffs installed, Cant wait to have my car back!!!!

I'll be curious how that setup sounds. Any car with long tubes/no cats just sounds terrible anywhere but the track. But I've never heard one with the stock mufflers back on, which I think it porbably one of the best sounding exhausts ever made.

And yes, the IG post sounds just awful.

In the top 2-3,000 rpm before redline it sounds good, below that it sounds like raspy shitty farts from a v6. I don't know about others, but 99% of my life in this car is lived below 6,500rpm and below that it's a downgrade.

This thread reminds me of when a woman uses a filter to make herself look different than she really is but when it comes to meeting up in real time, the man immediately flakes when he realizes he got catfished.

Ever hear Warren Johnsons NHRA ProStock 180° crank motor from the late 1980’s ? 500ci P/S motor that sounds like a V6.
OEM active mufflers are legit and do a fine job at mitigating interior drone. Does the GT350 use 2.5ā€ tube or 2.75ā€ ? I know the GT500 is 2.75ā€ (70mm actual)

Back in ā€˜93 I bought a brand new Sentra SE-R with the legendary sr20de engine and proceeded to add a Stillen Motorsports chip, pop filter, header and HKS catback. This was before fart cans were everywhere, the HKS actually shipped from Japan, just not overnight šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‚. Anyway, that little fucker revved to 7700rpm and the sound it made shits all over what l heard in that IG post and have heard in various other IG posts. Like, sticky, dark tar shits from a toddler all over it.
