Was a very god article. People who keep claiming the GT500 is nothing more than left over parts from the GT350 program need to read this.

I like to disassemble things.
Steve is a great guy. I've gotten to know him well over the past few years and its always interesting exchanging texts on any breaking information. He asked me if I had any lingering questions that Ford had yet to address and I brought up the pump and gears. He did a great job getting answers that nobody else has been able to get.

So I guess it’s not a billet oil pump?

I knew that would be asked and shot him a clarification text as soon as I read the article. When I hear anything I'll post. If you read carefully what he wrote he was saying that the powdered internals are harder with a larger gerotor and as such, stronger. But it would appear that the OPG is still a powder forging nonetheless.

Sounds like it's confirmed that the oil separator drains back into the engine?

No? Where does it say that? It only says that it can be drained.

It explicitly states that "it is set up with a drain and does not require servicing" in the photo caption at the end.

Are the cylinder bores plasma coated? I didn't see anything mentioned in the article.
