I'm looking at sourcing a block for my build and wanted to see if someone could explain the difference between the two blocks below. From what I understand they are both Predator blocks the M block being Ford Performance version and K block being the production version. If that is the case what is the difference besides the part numbers?

Thanks!

Call Ford Performance directly. The number is 800-FORD-788. Can you please let us all know what the differences are once you get the information?

It is my understanding that both 5.2 blocks are the same. Sometimes the stock block can be had cheaper but I’ll ask Holbrook this week.
These new 5.2 Predator blocks seem to hold 1000rwhp easily non sleeved.

Will the gen 2 heads work on this block?

Thank you BiminiLX! Good to see you on the boards again, been a while since we've chatted on SVTPerfomance. Still have your GT500 and Foxbody?

Sadly I'll have to sleeve my Predator block as I'm shooting for over 2000hp

I’m interested in this answer to as I’m looking to build a short block in the future. I’m also curious if the coyote heads can be used as I want to keep the DI and port injection which the 500 doesn’t have.

Hey buddy.
Yes still have the 2014 GT500 now at 1100rwhp. That’s about enough for me for that car.
The LX is getting a turbo Coyote build with Holbrook Racing Engines finishing a Bear block based 1500hp deal.
We had debated going sleeved Predator block but I trust Chris Holbrook :)

I was told that Gen 3 DI heads will work on this block as well

Very nice J! How long until it's done? I'm currently building an '87 Buick GN that is getting a twin turbo Coyote/ Predator engine swap and a 4R200 trans as well. Here's a pic of what it looked before it came apart 8 months ago to be painted. I kinda went off the deep end with this car and the longer the paint stuff is taking to more parts I'm acquiring to make it over the top. Initially I was just going to do titanium downpipes and wastegate plumbing but that eventually turned into a full titanium exhaust from the downpipes to the tailpipes, mufflers included. The headers are stainless, coldside is aluminum. The car will have power locks, windows, mirrors, air conditioning, heated Recaro seats and some cool electronics to run it all. Ecu is going to be a MoTec M150 for engine & trans control.

After my GN is done then it's time to circle back to my Incon foxbody, yank the engine and verify if there's anything else wrong with it besides a thrust bearing issue again. If so I have a few other Coyote engines kicking around that will likely make their way into the fox and then at that point I'll add a/c to that car too while I'm at it.

Says the guy with a GT500 & GT350r, lol. I would love to have a new GT500 but just can't swing/ justify that purchase right now. They are amazing cars from what I hear and I will eventually own one. But at the same time I really enjoy have something different than the norm or that lots of other people have. I am in a very fortunate place to where I can do all of the work myself, except paint, for this car otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford the build that it is going to turn out to be.

Thanks for the envy, lol
