I think this is the biggest thing missing from the Mach 1... outside of a high revving 7.3.

Well guys, I have cancelled my order and started the process of purchasing N1850.

Mike we have talked to Ford. They say its up to the dealer. As they only manufacturer the vehicle. after delivery its all in the dealers hand. Funny that our dealer had to reach out to the area rep to get the answer "Only mustangs NOT the 350 OR the Mach 1!" Well I thought its a dealer issue!

Legally there is limited recourse. You have 3 options to stick it to them. In no order,

1st, is to decline the order and contact Ford with the VIN. Allegedly Ford takes this into serious consideration when it comes to future allocations among dealers.

2nd Is to take the loss and accept the order, but be adamant on naming and shaming these dealers. Some of them get a significant volume of orders from these forums. for the M1, 1 dealer is honoring them, another dealer is not. Call them out!

3rd is something you can combine with 2, and is the most time consuming (but worth it imho). Take delivery and sue the dealership. Never ask about price protection (trust me the dealers know about it and allows you to claim ignorance). Do this in small claims, center it around fraud/deception, and demand a slightly higher amount than the price difference. The cost shouldn't be anymore than $50 and a few hours of your time. The dealerships are not allowed to bring lawyers (as are you). Depending on the state this trial will be by jury (who will be sympathetic) or a judge. A smart dealer will give the refund after the summons, or when the judge calls for an arbitration meeting. If it actually makes it to trial, if they don't show up you automatically win. If they show up you get to pull some top individuals at the dealership to a court room. Then do your best where you may or may not lose. Those that have the OG DORA chapman emails will have an easier chance than those with the newer chapman DORA emails with the disclaimers. I know all of this because I've sued several companies this way in the past. I have sued almost 7 companies only not having success once. MOST of these companies will handle the dispute outside of the court, as a win sets a precedent that can potentially lead to more lawsuits, class actions, bad reputation, etc.


I recommend anyone with a pending order worried about not being protected seeing if the dealer can be changed and reimbursement redirected.

Thanks, I’m excited. My order is still out there. Truthfully I am tired of waiting and the thought of one more delay email from Ford really forced my decision.

Its a 22 in Kentucky, fully loaded minus Recaros, which is fine. She also has the Tremec, which I’m very happy about.

Finalize paperwork next week and then ship it home.

Awesome! I think you made the right decision with all the craziness, inconsistent order fulfillment, and lack of transparency from Ford. My car is fully protected (xpel+ceramic), broken in, modified and ready to race which is way ahead of where my order would've been.
