The current situation looks questionable, because some of us have been waiting since last summer. And it not ford’s fault. At some point they will have to end production on the S550 and start on the new S650. So some of us will be disappointed not being able to receive a 2022 Mach 1. At the moment it is a waiting game.
I’ve been waiting since last spring (march), not summer..

and it is completely fords fault, by not prioritizing orders based on received date. by building mustangs, Mach 1s especially, ordered in 2022 is just ridiculous while there are still Oct-Nov 2021 Mach 1 orders sitting with no VIN or build date.

I get the whole shortage thing, that’s not fords fault. But the way they choose which cars to build, is completely fords doing and therefore their fault

Sorry Jimmie, but I've probably been driving a stick for more years than you've been alive, since 1977. Just sayin'
I think you missed the prosthetic leg there in the pic. Anyways, just giving you a hard time.

I get the feeling that this lack of consistency is based on dealerships. It’s said that retail orders aren’t subject to allocation restrictions, but I doubt that for M1s Ford is going to select 5 from one dealership and 0 from a smaller dealership. Of course, dealerships will refute this since they all want orders. If a dealership has a wait list of 15, and another smaller dealership has a wait list of 0…I much rather go with the smaller dealership.

the dealer I order thru is a small-mid sized dealer and I’m the #1 Mach 1 order they had, first in line..

i think part of it is, that the dealership just isn’t prioritizing my order in favor of more profitable orders they have - dealerships can prioritize to an extent of what orders they want filled first, pretty sure mine hasn’t been moved towards the front

also to consider, someone a few pages back mentioned that total Mach 1s, unofficial count, was like 1,500 or so in 2021. at best, probably 1/4-1/3 of those were HP orders. that’s like 30 Mach 1s total per state. take into account states like CA, NY, NJ - the super large dealers there probably got more than an even split of Mach 1s

end of the day, this latest Mach 1 is certainly going to be a rare and collectible run. Especially the fully loaded optioned HP ones

My dealer is a large group throughout the state, and like you my order is number 1 for my dealer.

My priority code was a 12, a month or so ago when everyone was getting build dates; some were exact with the exception of color.

I called my dealer and asked to get the regional manager involved, after a couple of days I was moved to a priority 1. The following round of dates came and my car was scheduled.

It be worth it to get the RM involved, and don’t be afraid to raise a little hell. Good luck, I hope you and the rest of us get our cars.

I love the low Mach 1 number. Still waiting for PP2 production numbers, just curious :)
Ordering a Mach1 is in my head, but I know that once I get it (if they build it) there will be GT500's available ;)

Most likely total production will be around 9,000 for 2021 and 2022 combined. For reference Boss 302 about 9000, GT350 about 24,000, recent Bullit was about 13k. Historically the first year of availability has the highest production number.

Your number is probably weeks away from being surpassed. If there were approximately 6500 built in MY2021, that means only 2500 in MY2022, and I heard from someone they're already over 2000 this year. There are probably more than 500 scheduled with a pretty big backlog. There are 4 months after July vacation for HPs and 6 months for Non-HP Mach 1s, so I think you are a couple thousand low for total Mach 1 production.

You forget they were building Non-HPs in December last year. 11K total ought to be pretty doable.

Question: How many HPs have been built so far in MY2022?

There were 6313 Mach 1s built in 2021:

Was going based off 6,000 2021 and the highest 2022 on the registry forum (1000s). If we go with 6500 and use the weighted average 2nd year production (last year for GT350) as a percentage of the first year production, all of which occurred prior to COVID, the total is about 10,500. You say "already over 2000" as if half the year isnt already gone. The only way I see them not cancelling these supposed backorder of orders is delaying the S650 production.

What are they going to be doing the first quarter of 2023? Will there be NO 2023 Mustangs, since we know the S650 is slated to be a 2024?
