Alright guys, so I know it's been done plenty of times on the 2018's where the factory MT82-D4 is swapped out for a 11-17 MT82 and everything is plug and play.
But on the 2019 the MT82-D4 has changed from the 2018. It no longer has the 3 pin speed sensor and what im assuming is the reverse switch. All it has is the 6 pin connection on the top driver's side
Has anyone swapped a 11-17 MT82 into a 19+ and made the speedo and reverse light/camera work?

I have no answer, but good on you for that switch.

The revised gears on the 19s+ suck, take the fun out of the car.

Much better solution would be 4.09's. with the double overdrive of the 19's it comes out close to the same.

Can the PP1 Torsen be geared to 4.09s? Cheap? Expensive? Estimated cost?

What an interesting idea.

I'm already looking for reviews and install videos. Less than $300 parts + install costs. I'm reading this post because I have the same interests. Not digging the missing lowend.

I know, right? This might be a relatively low-cost and simple solution.

I know nothing about LSDs/rear ends. I see the 4.09 gears are readily available, but I don't know if the PP1 cars having Torsen LSDs changes anything.

The reason is because 19 and up cars have the active rev matching. Its the main redeeming feature of the d4. As above, regearing the rear end is the best way to fix the crappy ratios.

Have you considered doing 4.09 gears? https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/how-are-people-liking-4-09-gears-in-the-mt82.111146/

Can't help you with your question but if you can get your hands on wiring diagrams it shouldn't be hard to figure.
Yeah I'm going to ask a tech I know at Ford if he can get me a diagram of the harness that runs to the trans. I'm hoping ford might of left some plugs hiding up somewhere incase someone was to swap the trans but I highly doubt it lol as for the rear end swap, I had considered it but I ended up just going with the transmission instead since i had a broken MT82 off my old '13 laying around. Im getting it back this weekend from Ben Calimer
later on when I boost it I can just swap my stock D4 back in if necessary for the longer gearing instead of swapping diff. gears again

The '19 xmsn (for 5.0) does have an output shaft speed sensor but the reverse switch appears to be gone, replaced by the selected gear sensor (RS wire for reverse).

Both the output shift speed sensor and reverse switch locations are blocked off on the transmission case, it doesn't have either. Only the one plug which I'm assuming controls both of those and the rev matching features

I looked at the service manual and wiring diagrams but not at the actual xmsn (too difficult to get under the car). ;)

Yes they can, gears $300, install kit $140, labor varies. Then a lil programming and you're all set.

I almost never have the opportunity to push my car, just the nature of my daily driving. And since I never do it, I've ignored taking the opportunities when they do arise. I just sorta cruise along 99.99% of the time. But this thread made me want to do a 1st gear pull the next time it was safe to do so.

This morning I found the space on an entrance ramp that leads to a sweeping right hander. So I rolled to 5MPH in 1st and then planted the throttle.

I had forgotten how fast the car is in 1st gear, even as tall as it is. The tach was a blur. 3.5k RPM-7K RPM happens RIGHT NOW.

So, while the gearing isn't like it was in my 2016, it's not like it's bad. It's just that with how tall 1st is, it's harder to find the right time and place to use it. With the 2016 MT82, I did a lot more shifting, which made the car more entertaining. This 2019 is just more subdued due to the revised ratios.

Hey Marco, I have swapped my MT82-D4 for a T56 Magnum XL in my 2019 Bullitt and had to swap back because of wiring issues. It's because of the rev. match and a sensor called the selected gear sensor. Good luck to you!
