howdy all. so you know when you rev up in 1st gear, then push clutch in, then hold clutch in and not shift but rather just coast for a bit... and your rpm's drop from say 3000 to 2500 and just hang there for several seconds even though you're just coasting with the clutch in.... you can do it in 2nd or 3rd etc...

how do you stop that rpm just hanging there?? will a tuner do that? like a procal? thanks

Try shutting off Rev-Match.

It's possible you're grabbing a lower gear, or just starting to, and Rev Match is holding the revs.

That's revhang, it's a common complaint about the stock tuning. An aftermarket tuner should be able to disable that feature.

The ford performance tune for the 18 up gt fixes that.
Forgive my ignorance, but would you be able to give anymore info on that? Is that something I can get done at any Ford dealer? How would I go about having that tune applied? Hopefully it's not too expensive.

Thanks in advance! (Future Mach 1 owner here)

You won't need this tune on the Mach1 because it comes with the car basically.

So the Mach 1 won't have rev hang? That would be awesome. It was easily the worst part of my GT's driving experience.

Considering rev hang exists for emissions reasons, it's crazy to me that they were able to tune it out in an OEM car, but I'll take it.

Someone who has driven a Mach1 will need to confirm. The FP tune doesn't eliminate rev-hang completely and is still Carb compliant. But it drastically reduced it to the point that it isn't a concern anymore. Way better than stock.
