Well after the car spent 2 weeks at the dealership, I've been told the techs can't find an issue and the car is being returned to me in the same condition. To my knowledge talking to the service advisor no parts were swapped to try and diagnose the issue (no wheel bearing swap, no spring seat...
Interesting, thanks for the tip. I don't have high hopes as the two dealers around me never seem to fix anything right, but I might as well get my money's worth out of the extended B2B warranty that's up next year...
So far no dice. Replaced the top shock mount, sway bar end link, greased the sway bushing, and checked the subframe bolts over the weekend, but the squeak was still there. There did appear to be some fluid on the shock itself under the jounce and cover, so I wonder if the shock is going...
Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention I already had the car up on jacks and checked all the suspension bolts to the service manual specs with the rear loaded to the ride height, and didn't notice any that were way out. After I took these videos I also grabbed some WD40 white lithium and...
Can anyone help me locate the source of the creaking from my rear driver side suspension in the videos below? It is literally driving me crazy every time I drive the car
It mainly occurs when accelerating and turning left from a dead stop, not when pushing on the car to move it up or down. When...
Has anyone had issues with corrosion on the front Brembo bleeder screws? My passenger outer screw had corrosion on it and was the only one of all 4 front bleeder screws to show this. The dust cover has been on and is tight-fitting. Admittedly, this is the first time I've bled the brakes since...
Thanks for the info, I didn't realize that SRF could harm the clutch system. Motul it is for me then as well.
Thanks, that helps clear things up. I guess I'll just remove the old fluid from the reservoir, bleed the brakes, bleed the clutch and call it a day. Seems silly that there's no bleeder...
If I want to flush my system and replace the fluid with SRF, how can I ensure the clutch system also has fresh SRF fluid in it, and I don't mix the old fluid and new SRF in the reservoir when bleeding the clutch?
I realize that our clutch system does not come with a bleeder valve, and the...
When you jack the car up, try to bear hug the wheel and give it a good shake back and forth. If there's any play in the wheel then its definitely a bad hub. It could also just be that the axle nut has backed out slightly over time.
If replacing the hub don't forget to get new axle nuts and...
Is there any risk of Ford denying engine warranty claims if something (major) happened and you used 5W-30 vs 5W-20, since our manuals don't specifically call for 5W-30 anywhere?
For those with the Watson roll bar - I assume you can open/close the top with the roll bar installed? Been thinking of picking one up to start participating in track days in addition to autocross.
Wow, thanks for all of the responses! I guess I wasn't the only one who needed a good rant on this subject, unfortunately.
@fmc_smt thanks for sharing the cool pics! I don't doubt that there are good and take pride in their work. I was curious if the experiences I've had were generally...
Wow, thank you for the responses everyone. It's interesting to hear everyone's experiences so far...even the ones still going on! I guess the Service departments around me aren't the only ones screwing stuff up...sad, really.
After all of this, I guess I am under the impression that how the...
Hey all, I apologize if this has been asked before. I'm curious to hear about your experiences with the Service department at your local Ford dealership, good or bad?
Here in SE Georgia, I'm having a tough time with the dealership situation in my area. There are only 2 dealers, both of which...
I have the MMD Hood Struts, and like them. They aren't as expensive/fancy as the Redline or Ford Performance, but they get the job done, especially since I open the hood between autocross runs. The one plus is that you don't have to modify the battery cover, unlike most other kits. My hood edges...
Operating normally for stock. If you want the trunk to pop open when it unlatches, you'll need to purchase the Steeda trunk pop kit. It will require a little more effort to close the trunk, however.
