Will update in a few weeks.
Will check oil and send sample.
504 miles.... noticed after cold start this AM.

Just above idle it sounds like some lash in the rotating assembly.
Dont really want to get dealer remanufactured motor at this point.
Plan is stop at dealer and register issue.
Stop at another dealer and register issue.
Stop at third dealer and register issue.
Then drive it till it blows up completely.
Order service block.
Take to dealer.
Get new block approved.
If Ford drags feet:
Snag car from dealer, swap motor I bought, hand all bills to attorney to invouce for my time and labor and attorneys fees.
Ford pays for motor swap in a reasonable time either they do it or I do it.

LOL are you serious? This tapping/ticking is completely normal for 2018+ GTs. Here is the response of a Ford dyno technician in the S550 Facebook group about the ticking sound.

I wish it were DI noise.
Unfortunately, this is in addition to DI noise.
Sounds more like bad or stuck lash adjuster.
Having been under the car quite a bit looking at the exhaust routing for diff cooler setup both running cold and hot (see my other recent posts) as well as having checked trans fluid level(engine has to be running).
This noise is new and way louder than DI. Its also coming from underside drivers side. Its also only in a narrow rpm just off idle. DI noise is constant at idle, this comes in off idle but before oil pressure builds. As pressure builds it phases out so seems pressure related.
Bad valve guide?
Lash adjuster?
Retainer?
Rod slap is doubtful.
I tracked a Whippled 15 for 2 seasons doing all my own work including motor swaps. I would love for this to be DI noise...

My 2018 does it some too. Our 2014 F350's witht he 6.2 at work do the same thing with high miles and zero issues. I could care less until there is a TSB or recall.

My 15 made that exact noise after I disconnected the battery to replace the steering wheel with a gt350 wheel. Took a couple of minutes but smoothed itself out.

It went away once warmed up.
Headed over to friends shop and then to dealer to ask techs I know what their thoughts are.
Everyone suspects cold piston slap or maybe a bad lash adjuster or sticking valve.
I am not worried.
I have a 5 yr, 100,000 mile warranty on this power train.
Let it eat.

Will try to get a recording again after its cooled down which will be a while even with hood up since its 100 F.
I want to get a baseline compression check done too just for fun.
Maybe change the oil and send it off.
Cut filter.
Need to get a new borescope to scope the pan and cylinders.

Just bore scoped my 18 and found damage on cylinders 7 & 8. Stock car with no tune, 5500 miles. The "answer" from Eddie Nguyen is a non-answer.

"You have a warranty" is not a reason for Ford to not fix your car.

Could you elaborate on the damage in a bit more detail?

Discoloration and gouging in dark straight lines up the cylinder wall.

I've built street setups, I've built track setups. Even with Wiseco pistons I've never had an issue like this.
