Hello, I have a 2018 S550, I just purchased a full catback from a smashed Mach 1, I have now purchased the three wires and I just need to toggle on the active exhaust, like you did... Can you walk me through it?
just go back and read the thread for the forscan codes.
input those in and it will show up on for you to use on the dash

Can confirm this is the correct wiring from actuators to the trunk harness for a 2022. You’ll need to solder or connect pins 1&3 from both sides into a single pin to connect to the trunk connector. It’s much easier to push the pins in if you disconnect the harness from the Evap under the car and from the trunk connector.

The molex connector in the trunk also has pins blocking the rear cavity for each pin. You’ll need to snap these off to be able to push the molex pins into place correctly. (See image)

Also, for 2022 the prior listed FORScan changes are not accurate. You will get an error when trying to flash. I used Forscan’s option in IPC to enable “Tunable Exhaust” and that worked correctly. I’ll pull the exact code lines later this evening

Hey eveyone, my theory worked! You can enable Active Exhaust by only using Forscan in the 2019 Mustang :D

For those who do not know how to start, just check comment #676.
If you are on a Mustang 2018, everyting should work right out of the box, but if you have a later year model, you need to continue reading.

Now comes the part that could potentially brick your PCM.
After checking over 100 As-Builts from US Mustangs with and without Active Exhaust, I found the following:

Mustang packages:PCM Calibration / Strategy
2019 GT M6 no-AEKR3A-14C204-ACF
2019 GT M6 AEKR3A-14C204-YF
2019 GT M6 PP1 no-AEKR3A-14C204-ACF
2019 GT M6 PP1 AEKR3A-14C204-ZF
2019 GT M6 PP2 no-AEKR3A-14C204-ACF
2019 GT M6 PP2 AEKR3A-14C204-ZG
2019 GT A10 no-AEKR3A-14C204-BJE | KR3A-14C204-BJF
2019 GT A10 AEKR3A-14C204-BFE
2019 GT A10 PP1 no-AEKR3A-14C204-BKE | KR3A-14C204-BKF
2019 GT A10 PP1 AEKR3A-14C204-BGE | KR3A-14C204-BGF
2019 BullitKR3A-14C204-XG
2019 EB M6 Perf AEKR3A-14C204-BBD

So, I flashed on my 2019 GT A10 PP1 no-AE (KR3A-14C204-BKE) with a calibration from a 2019 GT A10 PP1 AE (KR3A-14C204-BKE) and it worked!

I know that it can be done by VCM2, UCDS and Forscan 2.4.x beta.
The files needed to flash can be found here: fordtechservice
Tried using that link to get the PCM calibration but the link doesn’t seem to work. It tells me that there is a error and I don’t have permission to access the page. ☹ Im looking for the PP2 M6 AE calibration.

Also my PCM calibration is a little different than what is listed for the 2019 m6 pp2 no-ae (KR3A-14C204-ACG). Do you think that it would be a problem if I were to flash the active exhaust version (KR3A-14C204-ZG)?

You also need to have the fuse and relay present as well as the harness in back. You will have to activate the feature in FORScan but shouldn't have to modify the PCM like those of us with '19+ models.

Software is free for download without purchase. MVPI2 Plus purchase will allow you to do everything BUT upload tune until you buy credits from HPTuners for each vehicle you wish to tune. My 2019 required 4 credits at $50/ea.
Hey man just curious if you or anyone knows how to program the parameters for the valves in the active valve system. Basically I activated the active exhaust on my car after installing everything, but it only functions as either open or close. So quiet = closed and normal, sport, and track=wide open . It does not do 1/4 open or half open or any of that on the valve.

At idle the system will do exactly what you describe, only modulates the valves when under load.

You gotta be kidding me,but it doesn't sound any different in like track mode from sport or normal mode driving

Sport mode, note how valve is wide open at idle (650-850 rpm and throttle closed). As RPM rises and throttle opens the valve closes.

Normal & Snow/Wet mode when in 1st or 2nd gear. I stand corrected, valve is almost all the way open at idle but you get the idea.

Not sure I saw this question in the thread and apologize if it's been asked....do you need to remove any custom 'tune' before making changes with Forscan to the AE parameter(s)?

If you've used Forscan before on that computer then no. If you use the profile you created before then it will read the data.

If you try to make a new profile it will fail to read. That's what mine did.

JR3Z-14A411-J - The black Y harness:
1x 33472-1557 12pin - 6 wires
2x 33471-0401 4pin - 4 wires

JR3Z-14A411-H - The silver harness going to the actuator:
1x 33481-0401 4pin - 4 wires
1x <something I can't quite read, see the attached pictures> 4pin - 4 wires

I am trying to figure out the part # for the connector on the car at the Y harness. I've ordered the Y harness and the 2 short extensions (to the actuator) are coming with the used AE mufflers I purchased. As I'm one of those 2018 owners without the "plug" but with the 'relay and fuse', I intend to run wiring from the rear to the kick panels. Ideally, I could find the mate to the Y harness connection (toward the car).

The part # listed above appears to be 33472-1557 and I'm assuming that is the connector already on the Y harness....correct me if I'm wrong. I would think I'd need the opposite side of that connector. However, I can't find that part # anywhere online. Anyone have some advice? Thanks!

Does anyone know how to wire up a switch instead of to the car? My 2018 GT350 mufflers (kuster actuators) are 3-pin connectors. It’s 3 wires. It’s negative switched. It only opens and closes when I’ve attached power to power, and negative to negative, then take the 3rd wire and touch the negative terminal, then it opens. I don’t know how to exactly wire it up to a switch. Any help?
