Nice nice hopefully ford has a faster car when I decide to go for a bigger engine in a few years or it seems like I'll have to go to the dark side lol BUT looks and price does play a big role for me

Well, the Camaro managed to utterly pwn the Mustang. According to car and driver, 0-60 in 3.9 secs.. Lol, it's funny how it matches the 0-60 in the gt350.

Ford really dropped the ball and everybody knows it unless you're a blind fanboi.
Maybe Ford just walked away from the mistaken notion that 0-60 was the be-all, end-all yardstick for car performance and enjoyment. They did step back a bit from the drag racing scene.

FWIW, you're comparing an 8A car against an M6 car for a test that the 8A is naturally going to be better at if its developers have even half a clue. Apples to pineapples, and what's funny is that you're trying to equate them.

Me, 0-60 times don't mean much at all, and even less when they were accomplished using the kind of transmission that neither my wife nor I ever want to have in any of our cars.

Actually I'm among the least brand-loyal or model-loyal people you'll ever run across.

It's just that 0-60 really is that low on my list of priorities, and half a second difference there has no relevance in any of my driving. Even a full second isn't all that important. My street driving isn't hard enough for it to matter, and my hard driving isn't that slow.

i wonder what the real world 0 to 60 times will be? i bet for the most part they will all be mid to hi 4's? i dont know the price for the loaded v8 but im willing to bet its more expensive then fords, and honestly? how much would one have to spend to get that 0 to 60 time more or less the same on thier pony?

I think I'd wait for a 1LE kind of package a little further out . . . no way is there nothing left in reserve in that direction.

Agreed on the average driver on average pavement not seeing sub-4's. Maybe not even low 4's.

I'm betting that the magnetic ride option is going to be replacing the 1LE. They already have brakes, all that's left is a tire package of some sort. I could be wrong. I think you'd be knocking on the door of a $50K car at that point though. My local Chevy dealer has a 2015 1SS 1LE that is $42K before rebates.

Tires would (or at least should) drive quite a few downstream tweaks. Wheels, dampers, all sorts of chassis and suspension bushings even if you leave the springs and sta-bars alone. Not that a little more elastic stiffness over the "regular" SS and distributed a bit differently would be a bad thing for a 1LE.

On the magnetic ride - I'm waiting to hear what happens in real life . . . just how is their (presumably non-accessible) programming set up to affect transient handling, and what do the dampers default to if the software takes an unexpected vacation for any reason? I asked these questions some time ago over on Camaro5 because I get curious about things like this, and I never did get an answer.

The Z/28 did not get mag-ride . . . just saying.

I know, it got DSSV dampers. I don't expect them to go that route again because it's expensive and I honestly don't expect them to come out with another Z28.

MRC could be reprogrammed for tires, so that wouldn't be a big deal. Maybe the tire package would come with a few other suspension tweaks. I'm just guessing by the way. This is the direction I expect it to go.

I'm sure that the MRC would be tweaked for different wheel & tire packages and anything else. Doesn't make sense for it not to be.

I wonder about such things as transient handling for autocross and track lapping, where you might not want the same conservative shock tuning (read: understeerish) that would be appropriate for the average street driver. I suppose it could be dealt with to some extent via the 'modes', though that still means you're stuck with somebody else's preferences.
