The problem that I'm afraid of with DI, is blowby in a high boost engine.
I'm not talking 8psi, more to the tune of 25+.
No catch can in the world is going to eliminate that problem 100%.

The new Mercedes CLA 45 has the M133 2.0 with DI and 26psi of factory boost to make 355hp. We'll see if this is a real issue within a few months or years. FWIW the M278 and M157 TT V8's with DI haven't had any oil or pcv issues.

The diesels on the other hand push so much oil through the intake that when a seal leaks it spews oil before it loses boost!

A revised intake manifold with charge-motion control valves

Delete these for better performance, just like in the 3v engines.

Is that a hope of yours or does this tech somehow always have drawbacks when installed in the Mustang and not every other car that has them? It sounds like complaints of wheelhop from the IRS when only so few previous Mustangs had IRS, and a faulty design at that. Hows about we just wait and see how things really work out.

For around-town driving, in my opinion, these HELP performance because of the seat-of-the-pants feel when accelerating from a stop up to about 50mph. If one is a quarter-miler or likes top-end speed, then I would agree removal gets rids of a restriction on the hp.

They work acceptably to me on my 2010 GT. This car is a daily driver for me, with 60% of my driving being around town under 60 mph.

How about the Mustang V6 model?

I'm sure someone will offer a delete kit if they do cause any major problems. I'm sure Ford has a reason for putting them on the 5.0.

Emissions and torque, according to various press releases - to wit...

"Another trick was to include charge motion control valves (CMCV) to the intake manifold. With better breathing at high rpm, low-end torque can be adversely affected. By adding CMCV, the airflow is partially closed off, thereby increasing the charge rate to help boost low-rpm performance. Also manipulating the airflow is a variable cam timing mechanism with increased range of adjustment due to the addition of mid-lock phasers on the intake side."

The rods and crank were always forged. There is still a chance these pistons have been updated and are unique to this engine.

Yeah, sorry, want clear. I knew that but without forged slugs, I can't really dial it up. As if 600rwhp and 10.xx 1/4 daily driver with baby seat in back at 9 lbs ain't enough lol

Exactly and these were carried down from the donor f-150 for the exact same reason: more torque. Especially important for the f-150s competitive positioning.

It's been stated repeatedly that nothing on this car was carried over (save some bolts and things of that nature). That would lead me to believe that the pistons will be different than the ones the 11-14's have.

Different can mean a lot of different things, though.

It has already been revealed that the Piston crowns have been modified to accommodate the larger Valves and extra lift.
