For the ones who have done their first oil change I’m curious if you checked the oil level first. I’m just over 1K miles and down 1/2 a quart. I do expect to loose some but wasn’t expecting that much
Did you check it before the 1K mile mark?

Yes, at Granger before I drove it home and when I got home and it was fine.
It is normal for new engines to consume more oil than normal within the break in period. I would just keep an eye on it. I am sure after it breaks in it will go away.

Mine is still on the factory fill with almost 3k on it. I intend to wait till 5k and change. I have 2 jugs of Pennzoil UP 5w 30 and a bottle of Liquimoly Ceratec on deck to fill er up with when I do. I ran the same combination in my 2018 F150 with the Gen3 Coyote and it ran well for 100K miles till I traded for my Mustang.

Just have done the first oil change (at 1 year and 4000 km, ~ 2485 mi) and also did an oil analysis:

I had to translate it, so I cannot guarantee the precise technical terms.
The highlighted elements are additives (the good thing according to the lab). Overall they found it to be a very good oil. From the viscosity values the lab classified the oil as either 0w30 or 5w30 (I did not tell them in advance).

When looking over the US reports posted here I noticed that they do include Boron in elements. Apparently Boron is not a thing here yet :).

30,000 miles on my 2018 F150 and it has always ticked with Ford synthetic 5w20.
I recently changed to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30 and it made no difference.
I have also used Quaker State full synthetic and no difference.
Engine uses no oil and gets great mileage. Tick does not bother me because it's a truck.

Both my 8000 mile 19 GT and my 1200 mile 21 Mach 1 have no tick.
Both cars have had the oil changed.

The part number for the square OEM plug is: FT4Z-6730-A
The part number for the wing OEM plug is: KX6Z-6730-B

Everyone I know prefers the square plug because you can keep your hand away from the oil coming out. On an F150 it's easier to remove with stuff in the way. To each his own. I prefer the square.

Thanks, also long shot but do you know if the ecoboost drain plug 9L8Z-6730-A would fit? Bought a couple for my old ecoboost

No, not even close, the ones I listed are yellow plastic and have no threads like that, They twist in, instead.
