What about running a 295 30 19 on 40 offset 19x10? I would like to try to run the r888r's on all four square on those wheels... The r888's usually run a bit narrow... Thoughts? I do realize it's a shorter tire, but that can be adjusted for (speed and vehicle height)

when going wider then a recommended spec a higher off set will not help you, you have to move things out so you dont hit inside or rub the suspension.
295 is to much in my opinion for the front.

I agree with Carlos here. 295 is probably too wide for a 19x10 ET40 wheel to not rub the shock body. The 285/35R19 R888r would be a better choice.

FWIW, the 295/30 R888 tread is an inch wider than their 285 (11.3" versus 10.3"). A 10" tread should fit ok, but an 11" tread may touch, even with a 5mm spacer.

Remember, higher offsets are closer to the strut. Lower offsets move the wheel outboard towards the fender and away from the shock body. If you're dead set on the 295, you may need extended studs and a 10-15mm spacer.

my last r888 tires were significantly more narrow than other 305's so I figured it might fit more like 285 but I guess you guys are right. I appreciate the feedback.

I reconsidering going to a huge front tire.. the Lambo Aventador SV set a new record @ Nurburgring with only 255/30r20 fronts, and that car ain't no lightweight.

Not really a valid comparison. The weight distribution is completely different (it's 43/57 vs 54/46 for the Mustang), as will be the suspension roll stiffness distribution from F to R. Heavy car with more weight on the front needs big front tire. If nothing else, it needs a square setup to balance the grip.

A 275 front is about the minimum you can get away with on this car and have it handle well, assuming you have something similar in the back. 285 square, 295 square or 305 square are gonna be the best when paired with an appropriately wide wheel for those options.

19x10 +35 square with 5 mm spacer up front (effectively making it about +30).
Lowered on CJPP springs with -1.5 camber up front, 275/35/19 Bridgestone Potenza RE760s squared.

HECK YEAH - they're the best bang for buck in my opinion for street summer tires around 300-340 tw. I tried to autox on these and promptly realized the limits, but I absolutely love them for daily use.

Thinking about going to 19x11 square now that I have coilovers with camber adjustability in the front.... Maybe next year though because currently no money haha

Keep two sets of wheels. One for daily and one for track. The 19x11s for the track. The Firehawk Indy 500 is just as good for a great value street summer tire.

Yessir. I'm actually thinking about having 3 sets - selling the P51s with 19x10 and going 19x11 for daily. Track use I'm picking up some s550 PP wheels and putting 200tw tires on it.. I'm still N/A / stock tune with a catback and catch can so I think any more than 275 isn't really necessary for track use. I do think it would look absolutely sick though.

I think you'd be surprised. These cars wake up with some tread under them regardless of power. I'd go with 275s for daily use (much cheaper than 305s), just based on my experience with the car on track. Given your mods, you're already out of FS class for autocross, so there's no reason to go back to PP wheels unless they're your daily wheels. Just my opinion, though!

Very true Bmac. Just last weekend I got slaughtered in Cam-C..... ugh. I guess that's what I get for lowering the car (this was before when the car was just on springs).

The only reason I want to run the Perf Pack wheels on the track is for the cost benefit. I purchased a set of 265/35 and 275/35 Federal RS-RR tires (200tw) tires for autox / possibly a little bit of road racing when I get more seat time, and it's much cheaper to replace these tires than a set of say 305 re71r / etc. For now, the 275 P51s are my daily, so no issues there!

I absolutely love your setup. What's pushing you to desire 19x11 for daily? Looks or something else?

I'm currently on 19x10 and 19x11 MRR staggered wheels. But square 285 35 19 re71r tires.

Question is, if I get 19x11 for the front (with spacers making effective offset at 25), would it have any significant benefit in terms of laptime reduction? Assuming the same 285 35 19 tire.

From an alignment perspective, are there any issues running 285/35 on 19x10+35 with an otherwise stock suspension? I've got the Magneride dampers on my EBPP, and I don't know if there is any dimensional difference between those and regular shocks/struts, so I figure +35 is a little safer than +40. I don't want to deal with any rubbing on the fender, though. Do I need to worry about adding neg camber for this setup front or rear?
