I’ve bitten my tongue enough...how about you take the high road and follow your own advice and PM Harry yourself rather than this egotistical jackass nonsense...
I do. I stay away from his posts unless he is specifically addressing me or speaking of me. I'm not the one stirring the pot.

Wow, that went sideways in a heartbeat.. I am one of those that prefer generally prefers to avoid these threads. In most cases, all they do is spread anxiety and give the car a bad name to the non 350 community. But if you post, at least try to give the reasons for the failure and any fixes that may be out there. I have a lifetime engine warranty from my dealer along with an extended warranty (covers stuff like CF wheels) And as Tomster says, I dont care if they replace the engine as long as it doesn't cost me anything, It would be nice if we all would start responding like we ar talking face-to-face rather then this keyboard warrior crap

Man I hate to see this.
This damn internet, non face to face stuff can go sideways pretty quick. This kind of stuff doesn’t happen in real life to often.

I remember a while back I made a comment about someone’s post without thinking who that person was and what they had contributed to the forum over the years. I got my ass chewed as in “how dare you”. Now if a new guy had said the exact same thing I’ll guarantee his butt would have been chewed immediately by other long standing members.....sad really.
We really need to take a step back and think, life is to short to be doing this.
Tomster just reached out and got shit on for it....REALLY?
This is not an internet issue. We were good friends. Please leave this between me and him.

The reason for the failure was a loss of compression of cylinder number 8. A borescope revealed the ring let go and a small piece of it was sitting on top of the piston. The bore was scored to all hell.

Tim, my sincere apologies to you and the rest of our Mustang6G members for allowing my differences with Tom to get where they presently stand today and take full responsibility for my previous comments and posts.

Having said that and going forward you can be rest assured that I will not respond to Tom or any of his past or future posts as our friendship died quite some time ago therefore it is time for me to move on.

Again my sincere apologies to all Mustang6G members for this unfortunate scenario that I helped create.

🙏

Harry,

It may be too late to get back to the way it was, but you need to understand that I do not wish anything on you except good luck and fortune. You are a huge resource around here an if I ever bring you up in a conversation, it is usually to draw upon your expertise. Somehow every time I do, it gets misconstrued or misinterpreted and I ask that you give me the benefit of the doubt if that ever is in question. If I say something that offends you, please reach out to me via PM or text and I will explain where I am coming from. I will do the same for you.

We don't have to be friends, but we do need to get along. I don't think you are going anywhere, and I don't plan to do so either.

If I mention you in a thread, I reiterate, I have the best of intentions. With that said, I will do my best to stay out of your hair, but it will be just a matter of time before our paths cross again here in this forum. Lets give each other the benefit of the doubt and put this nonsense behind us.

I hope you are well and you and your wife are healthy during these trying times.

Take care Harry.

My motor was swapped at 25k. Not driven like a DD but was a DD. I drive it like a stole it. I bought a beater to keep the miles off of it. I enjoyed 39k of DD. Just took it out the other day for the first time in a month.

I personally think this thread is now starting to head into the graveyard of 350 failure threads. And I'm not having a go at anyone so please don't take this the wrong way.

Ford are the only ones who have the data in regards to failures, number of failures, probable causes, etc etc. That's it. No one else does. So while I don't think there is an issue with posting up about failures, whether personal or seeing a replacement at a workshop(such as this thread), once you start going into the "let's collect data, lets start a poll, let's work out the issue" etc side of things, it's just gets nonsensical. There would be so many failures that aren't reported in this forum, such as the 3 replacements Tomster spotted. No one knows the actual failure in a lot of these, especially pre-19, as the motors get shipped off. Was it the oil filter, lack of oil, valve train, opg, crank etc....no one knows apart from Ford.

So I think we need to step away from trying to work it out analytically (as we don't have data to do that) , take it for what it is, and just keep it in discussion formats for now. Maybe in a few years the official data will be released (or leaked), who knows.
100% agree. Even when people think they have found some relational data, they don't know the whole picture. Example - such-and-such doesn't happen to 20s because that was only on the 19s...well how do you know when the engines themselves were produced? Do you know if they are made 1:1 with the car during production (surely not)?.. Just too many variables. Sadly, this is how Ford wants it..and it does leave people trying to fill in the blanks with what little data they have...and that ends up as wild-ass-guesses.

Edit to add - and the best part is how common it is for someone who owns a certain year - to defend how that's the year that didn't have any problems...and sometimes relish in seeing other years have issues. Humans are a wacked out bunch.

@Tomster when I reported my engine failure here, I got pounced on and personally attacked, accused of lying, making things up, and having motives and agenda. This added to the pain of the of traumatic experience of seeing my new car that I cared about and loved broken down and having its heart ripped off. Other people who report issues or even mention the word "buyback" get attacked, insulted, or mocked.

At the same time, there are empathetic and supportive people here who helped me feel better and gave me information to handle my situation.
You don’t think that had anything to do with your complete alarmist, freak out, sue everyone, the worl must burn, ALL of these cars are ruined approach to the situation? Seems like you’ve settled down now that you got what you want....that or you finally got the dosage right.

I'm calling on the admin @Jarstang to take note here. This member has been stalking me across multiple threads and hurling personal insults at me, thereby violating the "flaming and personal attacks are not acceptable" rule of this forum. This member in particular feels entitled to attack other members who report issues here. This is another example where he wantonly attacked another member for asking an innocent question about buyback and called his post "BS".

^^^LOL - who is stalking who??

Oh jeeez - here's the victim again. Must have hit close to home? It was just an observation - as you went on a rant to explain how so many were after you. Really, all anyone has to do is go back and see how nutty you acted. Glad it's worked out as it seems best for EVERYONE but I stand by my opinion that you were acting out was a little childish.

I didn't even lol at you saying that it was on top of your "traumatic experience". Whew...that was tough to hold back!
