Hey all
I hope you can help, tonight I just had a weird experience which I wondered, is it normal behaviour.
So car was cold, I started up and sat for a minute and pulled away (all in normal drive). Revs were high as it was still on choke and warming up.
Just about a minute into dthe drive I get to an almost 180° bend in the road. When you approach, it is up hill and after the apex of the turn, it is downhill.
Car was reporting 3rd gear, and I lifted off the gas to coast around the tight apex and then go downhill. But when I lifted off the accelerator turned at the apex the car didn't slow, it sped up, and the revs increased drastically. Like I was on the accelerator!
It caught me off guard as it was too fast for the tight bend to be speeding up so had to adjust quickly.
Why would the car not change down when I lifted off going uphill and the car slowed due to gravity? Why not change to 2nd or even 1st? Instead it stayed in 3rd and sped up itself. Was the cold just to blame / normal behaviour when cold? Does this happen to others?
Cheers for any thoughts.
