It won't? As far as I can see it will only work with the base models, as it has the cutouts for all the knobs and the three black switches in the bottom.

They also confirmed in the chat that this is for the base models, as it won't fit the four silver dip switches.

As I have the premium one the only choices I have left are the Seicane or an original Sync 3 with 3.4. Seicane is out because of the camera issue I guess, as they are not able to put in a how to or an adapter of some sort to get the factory camera to work.

The Seicane solved the camera issues a long time ago.

Which headunit are we talking about right now? The Tesla style unit or the one that got linked on the previous page? I'm talking about the second one and SeicNe keeps telling me that it will not work with the factory camera.

I mostly replied to the most recent posts speaking about the other head unit that keeps the original interior.

I see, the 10.2" Seicane works with the OEM backup camera.

I don't remember if it has been discussed but does the 10.2 Seicane unit back up camera work instantly or does android need to be fully booted? Also is that the case for the Teslas screens

I believe they do have to boot up, even in the OEM cars it takes a few seconds for it to boot up and show the back up camera. The good news is as these units mature they have been getting faster and faster when it comes to boot up time.

You are correct. I was very hesitant a couple years ago to purchase one of these units. Then, last year I purchased the fastest one out there...the PX6 unit from Phoenix. It loads faster, and the backup camera is designed to work almost immediately when you start the car. And it's not just the Phoenix unit. They are all slowly progressing and getting better as time goes by.
