Fun with numbers - guesses on R only '18MY and total production

So, they made....

'15 - 37 (number of original 1965 R-models made)
'16 - 526 (love that Ford Performance has a thing about numeric symmetry)
'17 - 906 (can't quite figure out if this is significant or just the result of a long production year)
'18 - ????

My guess for 18 is 496 cars - but that may be difficult with just a five month build program.

Reason for my guess, though, is that the total built will then be the first year for the R-model..... 1965.

Your thoughts and guesses?

Going by the attached, it would be 45% of 906, or ~408. Perhaps they will make 429 (as in lb-ft), to mimic the 2016 526 (HP).

55% of 906 R's 17 my production is 498. So maybe [MENTION=27830]Muligan[/MENTION] is correct. 1965 total R's would be pretty cool.

Not sure where you guys are getting 906 for the 2017 GT350R production...That didn't come from Ford.

Nothing to base this on but pure speculation so will guess 428 although I like 351 much better.:headbonk:

With respect to the number of 1965 R models produced it is my understanding that the total number has been revised to 36 units and not 37 as used for a very long time.

As far as the 2015 R model production chassis/VIN number F0036 was sold to Jay Leno with F0037 sold to a noted Shelby collector in the Pacific Northwest namely John Atzbach.

Here are the 2017 Production numbers. Total R models 905.

Sorry, but that isn't correct. Per Ford Performance there were a total of 942 GT350R's for 2017, and 6,173 Non R's... That document isn't from Ford and is completely wrong.

With respect to 2017 R production numbers my understanding is the following:

837 - United States
105 - Canada
942 - Total

Apparently, the 2017 chart floating out there does not have the final numbers. The 2016 equivalent chart seems to match an earlier chart pretty well. The advantage of the new charts is it highlights stripes w/wo black roof.

I'd like knowing how many of my exact car was made for the year. If its free, it would be nice to know. Otherwise, I'll just guess around 10.
