Hood Struts for a 2015 Mustang GT

Well, I guess by the hood falling down on my head today, it time to replace my Redline hood struts. They have been in place for about 8 years now. I guess the "gas" inside has depleted. Any recommendations for a replacement set? Thank you

What he said. Just replace the struts with ones that fit. No real need to buy a new kit or pay for a name.
I've not had to replace my Redlines yet but I have replaced window and hatch struts on other vehicles. It's easy to do.

Just curious, how did you know that the 65 lb ones were correct? I probably need to do mine soon.

It's been a few years but I believe I was able to find the specs on the original MRT struts. That's how I got the correct length and weight.

8 Years on a set of struts sounds like a good long run. I have the Ford Performance on both my Mustangs two, years on one and one year on the other. And as the man said that fell off the 30-story building, as he passed the 15th floor "so far so good". I have a 05 Expedition with the stock hood struts, that is 21 years, and they still work fine and my 2010 Harley edition F150 still has the OEM struts and the still work fine. Those are 16 years old. I know they won't last forever but I think these are getting close. LOL
