Another vote for sticking with Motorcraft. What you're doing is working. If works...Don't fix it, right?
Have you owned it since new? If not, how many miles did you put on of the 125K?

Good evening,

I have a 2016 gt just hit 125,000 miles, any input on sticking with the motorcraft oil or should I go with one of the high mileage oils?
just had oil changes on our 2017 GT 75k and 2016 Explorer 79k.
I asked the technician if MC was full synthetic and she said no it’s a blend.
Response was they’d do full synthetic if I wanted but if everything is good stay with MC blend.

Both purchased new and only the dealer services them and no problems other than normal warranty issues.

Just my 2c.

I love these "what oil should I use" threads

Jokes aside, it really isn't anything crazy. Just don't use any crappy non-brand oil. I've used Motorcraft's standard oil up until 40,000 miles, then I switched over to Pennzoil's Platinum Ultra (5W-20). Been with it up to now, past 100,000 miles, switching out the oil every 3,000–10,000 miles (depends on usage during lifetime).

No need for any sort of high mileage oils unless you're seeing oil leaks or more burning than normal. At that point, time to replace the engine seals.

I'll be switching it on over to 5W-30 to mute out the Coyote tick after the next 10,000 miles. No oil burning at all during my lifetime of owning her.
