Arh headers with cats wont pass emissions test?

I went with catted to avoid the fuel smell. Plus, the difference in loudness and power is very minimal.

Smells and sounds like freedom to me.

With our MAK Cat Deletes the factory cats can be swapped into the car in about 30mins if needed for emmissions testing. Other than that you can enjoy the benefit of offroad pipes at all other times.

I'm in CT and my ARH with cats on my 2011 would not pass emissions. Because the cell count in the high flow cats are much lower than the OEM ones it would trip a CEL. This would require having the rear o2's turned off. In CT like many states you can only have one N/A come up on the test. Turning off the rear o2's caused two to come up.

I have a friend that runs the Kooks "Green" cats and it still trips his CEL. Things were much easier with the older cars to pass emissions but not on the newer 2011+ cars. If you have emission testing in your state you better be ready for a major headache come emission time.

The last I knew as long as there was no check engine light or any lights on then I would pass the emissions . Before this 2015 gt I had a 05 GTO with catted long tubes and it passed with flying colors, so I'm trying to figure out the situation here a little more

You won't pass. NY and CT have adopted the same testing. Your GTO was allowed two N/A but your 2015 is only allowed one.

Each state is different but for states doing OBDII testing like North Carolina the rear O2 sensors must be turned on and read ready when hooked up to the machine. As someone else already said there are tuners that can write you a tune so that you will pass. Now in states that require both OBDII and visual you can pass the OBDII part and fail the visual because the cats are not in the factory position. Any state that has adopted Califorina emission standards you will fail no matter what.

That would be shorty headers. They are available now but they don't offer the performance gains of longtubes.

Always an option here , if long tubes are netting 30 to 40 rwhp, I think a good set of shortys will do 20 to 30 rwhp. Better then nothing

Ny state enacted this crap in 2013 so unless I can get the 02 sensors to read ready on the monitor not sure if I can get long tubes at all

At best a set of shorty headers might get you 10rwhp. They just aren't that much better than stock.
