I know financially wise getting my current gt supercharged would be the better choice. I'm just trying to look at other pros and cons.

The biggest running costs for a daily driver V8 Mustang, in my experience, have been tires and insurance. If I were going to daily drive a standard GT350, I'd be adding a new set of wheels and tires into my budget and saving the stock tires for the occasional high performance driving experience (autocross, HPDE).

Also, based on the fuel economy of the 5.2L engine, I'd be adding more $$ to my monthly gas budget as well.

While I personally would not daily drive a standard GT350 because of those money considerations, it surely doesn't mean it can't be done.

Insurance for some of the guys here that are 40yrs old for a gt350, it was between 1000-1800 a year. some of those policies don't allow unlimited miles and not allowing them to leave it ungaraged and locked.

The quote I got was less then $10 additional over what I'm paying for the 2015 GT. And that's for daily driving 15,000 miles per year.

I live about 20 minutes from Detroit. The combination of that, and no fault insurance in Michigan, gives me a 1700 bill every six months for my Boss. The GT350 is 2100, lol

Wow, I pay $1600 per year for my '15 GT, '13 Jeep Wrangler, and '11 VW Tiguan.

Tough decision for sure...I think just about any Ford gear-head would want the GT350. But to modify a car of that stature defeats the purpose of owning one IMO. If I had to decide between a GT350 and Supercharged 5.0 without a doubt I'd choose the FPC. Though it's a car designed for the track and not necessarily the 1/4 one would still win a fair share of lite-to-lite encounters against the competition.

Buuuuut it's hard to deny that a well-tuned Supercharged Mustang on the streets will destroy a lot of cars...decide what YOU want the car to be and go from there.

Hey guys having a hard time deciding on what to do was looking for your guys opinion. Should I supercharge my current gt pp or trade in when I'm able to find a Shelby for msrp. If I keep my current mustang I'm figuring it'll cost about 9k for supercharger+ install plus catback system around $1500 and I'd like to get lighter wheels and new tires which I'm guesstimating will be around $2500. So around 13k for all the mods I would want where as if I got the Shelby I would leave it stock and would only cost me about 10k more for a base model. Pros and cons guys ?
The GT350 is a great vehicle but I think the 5.2L will actually let some down with its lack of low end grunt. While it whines up and makes great HP, at lower, usable RPM range, it will significantly suffer, even on the track.

You will get more looks in the GT350, it will hold value better, but fun factor, the SC'd Mustang will be night and day better.

Now a supercharged GT350.... That would be the cat's meow :):ford:

If you dip below 3500 RPM on the track and have an 8200 redline to work with, you're in the wrong gear. This thing is a monster on the track.

But if you are not on a track, Like the remaining 99% of the time low end Grunt is what makes a car fun. I think in the city the 350 will feel like a pig compared to the GT unless you drag launch it all the time.

Maybe compared to a supercharged GT, but if you are comparing stock to stock the GT350 will be similar to a GT up to about 20 mph and then it will walk away. Don't forget the GT350 has more tire and 3.73 rear gears.

Lets say we a have base gtpp for a starter, we dropped a carbon fiber drive shaft, lighter wheels, more rubber, lighter full exhaust and a steeda or ford racing complete handling package. The final touch a whipple supercharger! Now you tell me which car goes faster around a track or drag strip.

This ^^
I'm thinking the supercharged gt might be more fun for daily driving. But damn that gt350 is a lot meaner looking. I love it
