I have a race catback with the H mid part on my new 2015 GT, what are on your opinion the performance differences between the H and the X tubing?

I have a C3 with a built Chevy SB with a meaty 570 hp, the custom exhaust has an X mid part, the rpms go up fluently through the full revs range.. the H part on my 2015 GT seems to 'pulse' and there are rpms levels where the engine seems to 'suffer' (around 3000/3500)...

what are your opinions?

It won't really matter performance wise. Exhaust on these cars are good for 1-2 hp. Only way to get any noticeable change in power is headers or cat deletes. It all comes down to sound with the H or X pipe.

I agree with above. The choice seems to usually come down to whether people want the "rasp" of an x pipe. However, from a fluid dynamics perspective, the h pipe will have additional losses due to the flow separating over the sharp edges at the H, and will therefore be more restrictive than an x pipe. But if the performance gains from a resonator delete are already marginal, the difference between an x or an h pipe are likely negligible.

H Pipe, love mine with stock mufflers. Sounds amazing, like it should have sounded from the factory.

Correcto Mundo! I'll take the x power.

you might see a 1 possibly 2 hp difference from an h to an x, but not much of anything

buy based on sound

I went h pipe because I am not a fan of raspy exhaust. The H in my opinion makes this car sound like its supposed to.

Sound/vid clips ?
amilhazes,

I noticed you were in Charlotte. Do you have exhaust yet? Or deciding which route to go? Reason I am asking is I am in Gastonia, and if you wanted to hear what the Stainless Works h-pipe setup sounds like in person, shoot me a PM and we can meet up.
