You shouldn't assume my age based of adding tone to text that isnt there. Ive read the whole thread. Looks more like some people making others feel stupid for not doing it. IM perfectly calm. I just call it as i see it.
I felt the same way, this thread is very toxic.

No offense, but this post sure sounds like someone on a high horse.
Its very contradictory to say no offesne before saying what you want to say anyway. It doesnt make it any less offensive. food for thought. On the contrary im far from on a high horse. i couldn't careless what others do. Im just annoyed with what ive seen in this thread with what appears to be snide comments because people choose to do something different that is in no way needed for the street or hurting anything. I wasnt even directly talking to you or 5.0 when i made my comments. I was posting freely on my thoughts as a whole. shouldnt feel offended unless youre having guilt.

I did contribute. Im basically calling the high horse people morons for thinking its mandatory for the street. pretty sure im more then qualified to speak on the topic. Are you? Its preference, nothing more. While i think there isnt anything wrong with the people that do, but to make others feel inferior for not is sophistry. You could move along unless you're qualified.
High horse comment I was referring to.

I said "no offense" to let you know that my intent wasn't offensive. I was simply pointing out the irony of your post. Perhaps you felt guilty and thus took it offensively anyway.

Which btw. Ive read the entire thread beforei posted. Have you? Which you didnt post til what, page 5?

Its not high horse when its true. Im a blunt person. My statement wasnt to be bragging. I wasn't offended. I just wanted you to know its of poor class to say that then say whatever you thought could be offensive anyway. Next time just say it and dont say "no offense". I rarely feel guilty for anything. I say what i mean and mean what i say. Lifes too short to beat around the bush. Speaking of cheers, im out of beer. :(

I for one rev-match, double clutch and heel-toe regularly, and like to share (what I think about) those techniques with whoever are interested/curious. But I would never force the techniques upon anyone.

If you don't do/care these techniques, please don't feel guilty/ashamed of anything. It's your car. And certainly don't be mad at us who talk about these techniques

What the hell is double clutching? I thought they made that crap up in the first fast/furious movie?

Wow, I see my thread has gotten out of hands since last time I checked on it lol. Easy fellas, it's all preference. I was just curious how many of us S550 owners rev - matched their downshifts.

I just do it. When the revs start dropping, I follow them with the gears. If at some point I want to apply power, I want the transmission in the correct gear for the speed range.

I'm not understanding the practical benefits of clutchless shifting.
There's little to no benefit in learning this skill now-a-days. In the event of a clutch failure, today's modern wireless cellular telephone technology will allow one to avail one of many tow services to transport said car to nearest Ford service center for a full and complete repair.

But teyyyouwhut, it's a schittonna' fun. Especially on downchanges. Gives you a frisson of excitement every time it slots in. :headbang:

I've been driving a manual trans since 1971, and have only needed to use that skill maybe 3 times in all those years on 70's era muscle cars....... and to me it's not something you need to do in everyday driving, (although I do it from time to time just to stay in practice).....it's more of a skill in the event you encounter a clutch engagement problem where the clutch pedal is on the floor or possibly an issue with the clutch release spring and throwout bearing.....where depressing the clutch to get proper engagement is not possible......use that skill to get your baby home.....or just use your phone and call a tow truck, that's your choice....I chose to drive it because I could.
