I became aware of this a little this week. I've had my car 2 months now. I got rid of my last mustang in 2010 because I needed a 4wheel drive.

I'm a two vehicle guy now and of course the mustang feels like a rocket after driving my lifted 4 runner for the last 5 years.

It's great to be back in a mustang(3rd), but yeah, it's feeling slower :)

It took me until I finally test drove a coyote S550 to truly realize how slow my 4.6 is. I was not expecting it to throw me back in the seat like it did. In that moment I was sold and laid my plans to purchase one.

Even if you can never truly get the most out of all that power on the street, you can certainly get pure joy 4.4 seconds at a time.

The first day I had it, I was scared of it and never envisioned a time where I would want more power.
My only other experience with Mustangs is with a '69 351 Mach 1 and an inline 6 200 cu.in. '69 Mustang. I use half ton trucks as my daily drivers. Now, I see why people put superchargers. It's an addiction.

When I was driving a 10sec car as my daily driver it didn't take but a few weeks & it didn't seem that fast anymore. Once I made it a weekend car only & drove a much slower car as a daily drive the joy returned.

We humans are wired to not be satisfied with what we have & want more or better.

A couple months. Quickly rectified by driving my swift or explorer a few days

Yes, the best approach is to drive a "normal" car a couple days a week. Will save you thousands modding!

Even back when I rode sportbikes - all of which would destroy most cars - I got used to the power and they sometimes felt "slow".

My 2015 GT feels like a rocket ship compared to my 2012 v6. Its brand new, but man, the difference from v6 to the Coyote is astounding to me still.

I can usually hold out a few years, but it's really hard to go backwards. My 2015 is not exciting compared to the 2011 GT I had.

Go to a road course and drive there. You'll realize the GT is pretty quick.

Slow? It'll never be. Used to it? About now (just past 2 months in). It actually was a little nerve racking the first couple weeks because it was 2x the Power/Weight I was used to for years, and made me feel like the car was ahead of me, instead of being on top of the car.

I'm at the point where WOT blasts still make me grin like a little kid, but I feel completely in control.

I intentionally avoided driving a 5.0 until the '15s came out. I didn't want to buy another '10-'14 body style.

I am now in total love/lust with the S550. :love:I was immediately impressed with the engine, but what blew me away was the handling on a terribly bumpy but wonderfully curvy road and how the IRS put that power down comfortably. Addictive.
