Back then it was a good auto box. Today it's meh but done right it's great. There's a guy local that runs dead consistent 11.2s with an auto supra and has been doing it for years. I don't think I've ever seen the car have an issue.
Knowing how good these new autos are I've considered it but...
My 03 from a couple blocks away. Friend took the video after I left his place. Just a partial throttle burst. Didn't want to make too much noise in his neighborhood at 11pm.
I did this exact search a few months ago and came up with Costco being a slightly better deal but you were limited to what the dealer had or was willing to work with. You couldn't special order a car on the Costco pricing.
I've decided to spend a little more to go with xplan since there is...
Truth. They used to put a sticker on the window explaining it and the exact mileage accumulated during testing. Probably removed it during pdi or delivery detail.
Edit: page 2. Yeah...that sticker
I have an 03 cobra and a Suzuki swift as a DD (along with a ton of other cars)
Pay down the v6 and buy a cheap 90s beater to keep the miles off. Buying a new car for mpg isn't very smart thanks to all the additional weight they need to lug around. My swift gets 44mpg and is capable of high 14s.
The last 2 I talked to I said right up front I'll be using xplan and they both said "great. You know what you're doing, we don't have to work, simple. Let us know when you're ready. "
