I wouldn't sweat the GVWR. Remember that it's set by the automaker and there isn't a way to calculate curb weight just given this single figure.

Agreed. The higher GVWR is most likely a simple reflection of the improved chassis, suspension and brakes on the vehicle, giving it the capacity to carry more load safely.

Hell if Ford drags their feet much longer they might as well not even bother. Customers who ordered the first batch could just weigh and dyno theirs.
