Assuming both had manual transmissions and base gear ratios(GT with 3.31, Camaro with 3.46) the drag race would be close but the GT would pull in a highway race passed 100mph.

Assuming both had auto transmissions the GT would kill the Camaro at the dragstrip and would still pull on the highway. Unlike the Mustang, the camaro actually gets a less powerful engine when equipped with an auto trans(400hp vs 426HP).

Yea why is that?

The challenger RT has 376 hp 410 lb-ft of torque in the manual and 372 hp 400 lb-ft of torque in the auto.

Yet the 6.4L scat pack and SRT have the same hp and torque for both.

Why does Chevy and Dodge's RTs do this?

Yea why is that?

MPG requirements if I'm not mistaken. They couldn't get the numbers they wanted for fuel economy without pulling something from the power.

I had a 2012 ss ls3 m6 camaro before my mustang and i can tell you that stock for stock the camaro has no chance! The pull on the first two gears were a lot slower compared to my current car!

The FE4 suspension was ok but too much body roll cause the car weights so much! The mustang is more agile and the steering feel is amazing!

The only thing i missed about the camaro was the heads up display!! Seeing the rpm and digital speedo on the windshield feels thrilling and awesome! Lol! So No! Camaro has no chance whatever the race is! The 1le package is a must for the old gen camaros if you want to compete!

I'd argue that the 1LE package is actually a little slower doing a roll race. Tires are certainly heavier and the extra traction that larger tires offer doesn't do you any good at higher speeds.

Nothing significant, but every little bit helps/hurts. On the track though its a beast.

...for similarly equipped cars (TracPac), Manual/Auto---Is a Drivers Race. For curvy tracks, the Camaro has a slight edge in speed.

You sure? Last time I checked (early on) they had all season tires. Maybe I'm wrong do to the fog of war when the Stang made it's debut.
