I’ll update as the day goes on. I’ll do at least 5, maybe 6 sessions. It’s going to be hot here (104).

Session 1: It works. So far. Hopefully it continues this when the heat creeps up.

Zero fuel cut. And I set a new PR of 1:25.5 which is pretty damn good for a not-dedicated race car.

I also murdered a rabbit tracking out of T3. Poor guy ran on track. No way I was going to try to dodge the little guy @ 80+mph.

Sessions 2-5: Hot AF. 104 F
Zero issues w/fuel cut and set a new PR of 1:24.6! Video to be posted later.

Conclusion:
The @KPM Fuel Systems KPM 800HP (or better) is the solution to the fuel pump issue.

This is cool info! I've seen so many complaints about this. There's the disagreement over the return style being prehistoric. Then the guys who have invested in a return style definitely dont like to hear their choice isn't practical at that cost. This is good info. I went with the KPM1000 after some good guys on here told me the return style was a downgrade in technology. I don't track my car however.

New PR video. As my daughter says, I was "locked in". A 1:24.6 for a non-dedicated race car is in fairly rarefied territory at this track.

My car needs LT headers.

Fuel cut was happening when tracking out of turn 6/around the 47 second mark in the video.

Thanks for the updates, how low did you let the fuel level get before filling up?
Session 2 I intentionally started with 3/4 and ended with 1/4. No fuel cut. I did full tanks the other sessions. Didn’t want to do too much science testing.

Was there a problem with your OEM fuel pump while tracking your car? Is your car fitted with forced induction? I've heard the S650s had an issue when fuel gets low on hard turns, but not our cars.

Glad to hear it works as intended. 3 questions:

1. How difficult is the install (DIY or shop)?

2. Is there a specific version for the Mach 1? It is only listed for the GT and when choosing Mach 1 for a “does it fit” check, it says it doesn’t.

3. If you could do it again, would you go straight for the 1000 instead of the 800?

Thank you!

1. Pretty sure all the kpm systems are plug and play. You pull the rear seats off and there’s a lock ring holding the pump into the tank. The lock ring can be a bit of a fight but shouldn’t take you more than an 30 min.

2. They should all fit the Mach 1 but you can always call Kpm and Check

3. Imo just get the 1000 unless youre going to stay NA. Also they sell a kit to upgrade the 800 to the 1000.
Btw some tuners won’t support kmp systems.

I'm staying naturally asperated on my Mach 1 so I went with the single-pump KPM800, which the stock Ford FPDM should be able to manage and monitor better than the dual-pump KPM1000 and larger models? There is no difference between the Mach 1 fuel system vs regular GT and swapping pumps was simple, it had no affect on my tune, and I don't need Ford's software patch to compensate for their recalled pump they won't replace until after it fails. Get the special tool to remove/install the lock ring and make life easy. KPM offers a filter but I went with a 6 micron microglass media filter from Radium.

I currently have the KPM1000 and it runs great, I have a e85 tune and a 93 tune just switched to the 93 had to run it to 2 miles to empty reflashed with the 93 tune no issues

Yes to the problems w/the OEM pump. Ford issued a recall because they suck at making fuel pumps for the 18-23 5.0's. I was getting massive fuel cut tracking out of fast left turns and when over 6k rpm. I tried the DW400 pump and had the same issue. Tried the DW400 module. Same issue.

The KPM800 let me go full send for five 20 minute sessions in 100+F temps. I am a fan.

My car does not, nor will it ever have forced induction. Worst thing you can do to a tracked 5.0. I do use E85, but was getting fuel cut even w/91 octane.

Side note, there were a few 09-14 GT500's at the track. All of the drivers faced CHT and heat soak issues within 2 laps.

All of this is 100% spot on.

Install is stupid simple with the tool.

To be fair...there are much better blower setups available now than what you would have on those cars. More efficient designs and much larger intercoolers.
