I made a purge valve mounting bracket. Another time I wanted to clean my injectors, so I removed the fuel rail, I replaced spark plugs and coils, I was checking for a vacuum leak, no leak. I modified the 2015 engine cover to look like old school valve covers. Every time I want to work on the top side of the engine that brace is in the way, and I don't want to get rid of it. I had a 2018 engine cover on the car for a while and when I made the purge valve mount, and when I was done with the mounting bracket the 2018 cover no longer fit over the purge valve. That is when I modified the 2015 engine cover. The 5.0 motor without an engine cover is a but ugly motor with the heater hoses running across the top of the motor. The valve cover style hides those hoses. With the spacers under the brace, I can remove the covers and clean the top of the motor. The new covers give me better air flow over the top of the engine, less heat soak. I took the 5.0 badge off the 2015 engine cover and mounted it on the radiator cover. I made a backing plate installed two Pem threaded studs and bonded it to the 5.0 badge drilled two holes in the plastic shroud and bolted it down.

FWIW, I've owned a 2019GT with the engine cover, and now a 2019 Bullitt without.

I get that for some people, aesthetics are really important, so the engine cover may be preferable. But for ease of maintenance and repairs, not having that cover in the way is a Godsend......other than pouring oil in.

I just did a water-pump job on the Bullitt, and not having that cover in the way was great. And I notice no difference engine/DI injector noise without it.

Thanks. I actually designed/built this. With most of the design inspiration coming from Subaru dash mount gauge pods. I have a whole thread on here going through the development process and the installation. A few of the members on this site now have some also.

For me it wasn't the noise it was the ugly heater hoses that run across the top of the motor. Now I have two covers modified from the old 2015 engine cover. For most work I don't have to remove them anymore. I have better air flow over the top of the motor.

My box of goodies arrived from Levittown yesterday. Today I installed the lower K brace and shield. Saving the cowl extension for a rainy day project. I have to thank the forum for the threads mentioning the panel extension. I’ve had the strut brace and K member on for a couple years without knowing about the extension piece on the PP cars.

New dash trim from a California Special came in and I got it installed this morning.

original looked like this. Thought I had broken some tabs on it. Turns out I didn’t. Will have to put it up for sale.

New aluminum unit from Midway Mustang looks really good. Subtle difference, but I really like it.

If they fail again after the relearn then I'll buy the coincidence 100%. Otherwise, I'm still considering RF interference as a possible culprit.

EDIT: I went and checked what Discount Tire considers "TPMS service". It's basically a replacement of the valve stem and any other rubber components. So you are correct: no battery replacement. I'm just having a senior moment.

Curious how this shook out for you. Were you able to get the tpms to relearn?

Yes and no. I got them to relearn but it only lasted a little less than a week and then wouldn't respond to the relearn tool. I went to DT and they said the batteries in left sides were completely dead. Also the right rear was near dead but the right front showed good. At any rate, I got them to replace the three and I'll wait for the right front to die and then replace.

Not sure what caused them to fail if they still had enough juice for for several more days. Perhaps some transient issue with the near dead batteries?

I meant to post this yesterday but forgot. I drove my Mustang to the gym again but when I arrived there wasn't a place to park where I could see if from the window. That's not to say I didn't have a nice view. That's a fairly clean 1967 Chevelle SS 396 I can see from the treadmill.

Installed the cowl extension plate like I should have done before I installed the strut tower brace and cowl brace a couple years ago. Took about 4 hours easy pace to take apart and install. Only one bandaid required

Did you have a water pump failure, or were you just being proactive?
