Base, ok maybe. But 140k for the next trim and then 170k for the special edition, not really. And that's all, MSRP, which I know for a fact you can expect at least a 30k markup on all trims, regardless. And at that point, there are a bunch of better options. I made a whole forum about this called Dark Horse SC vs Z06: The better buy? And you can see some better options like an AMG GTR or an S550 SC Shelby.

I think it a little bit deeper then this. You have to discount the cost of the driveline of the DH. There is some R&D built into this but it minimal as most of this was done for the GT500. like some have mentioned Ford has realized there is a cost buyers are willing to pay and they want that chuck instead of ADM from dealers
I mean sure, if you want to take my paraphrased summary as literal…

This doesn't make sense by nature of the car being 170k they are automatically always marketing to the "i have 170k crowd"

There is no group of people who do not have 170k and will buy a DHSC. LIke others have said, people sending that type of money on a car look down on a mustang.
Eh, my grandfather's fav car was his new edge cobra R. And he had the money to buy literally anything he wanted.

I’ll be curious to see what Dodge actually does. I’ve heard some of the Hellcat revival reports as well. To Geep’s point, what will a V8 Challenger cost? Will it only be the supercharged Hellcat or will it have a NA version (RT and/or Scatpack)?

There’s been on and off rumors of the Camaro coming back too. But, in what form? GM is still making a big EV push, so would they even bring back a V8 version at this point? I’d hope so, I came close to buying a Camaro over a Mustang a couple different times. The Alpha chassis is really good. The actual ability to see out of the car is what killed it for me. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t be in this forum right now 🤣
I was considering a Camero for a time as well. I even rented one for a week in Florida. I agree it was hard to see out of very well. But I also wasn't a big fan of the dash layout. What really put it in the "nope" column for me was how the top went into the trunk and how much space it took up. The only thing I liked better was the top would go up/down while the car was moving. Putting the SmartTop module in the Mustang fixed that though.

20k wheels. 10-15k carbon ceramics plus the rest of the carbon aero parts. Bout right. Zo6 with a zo7 package is more

I should have mentioned in my earlier reply, IMHO, Ford lost it's way naming cars with the GT500, why the hell was the CFTP not just an "R"?

On the plus side, Ford went back to the 'ring and the GTD stomped it. Great job, Ford.

don't know what they did differently (tires, driver, etc. tow new drivers had 4 seconds between them) but it worked. This is what we all wanted last year before we had to eat lemons. Hopefully this means the 2027 gets a power boost. somehow it sounds a bit more tightly wound than before. And it straight up BOOKS.

Out of your insanely long diatribe, this part hits the mark pretty well. However, the "old GT500" is already pretty close to touching the GTD and so will the DH SC. But you nailed it with the price comment. Don't give us what we pretty much already have, and beat us up on the price.
LOL. Apologies. Once I get going, I am like a sports car like they had in the old days with a lot of engine and very little brakes.

YUP. If the new GTD ring time is 6:41, I give MAJOR props

the crazy thing is that’s the euro spec. If they switch drivers, I think our gtd is even faster (mostly due to mirror drag). Never was comfortable with the previous driver.
I certainly hope this is the exact number. Gives the GTD some much needed shine.

Comparing the DH SC (or any Mustang trim level) against the Z06/ZR1 Vette (any trim) never really made sense to me for the most part, especially after owning both. They're such different cars. The money may be similar, or not, but it's a different experience. I prefer a thoroughbred over a cheetah, even if the cheetah is faster. To each their own. But yea, let's hope for low to no ADMs, a lighter weight, and 800+ 🙏🏻

Question, does Chevrolet have a group they work with that is equivalent to Multimatic or what used to be AMG (was actually a separate company in the beginning) for Mercedes?
