For the SPL parts which ones do you use specifically and how much caster can you get from them compared to stock or even some aftermarket if you have the experience? Are they compatible with your suggested bushings and bearings? Between Penskes and MCS which one would you suggest from their...
I've been looking into what HB said, and they are absolutely an upgrade from anything OE or aftermarket. The day before my pb lap with a well-worn and old set of Cup 2s on smaller tires and I found that with my current setup, it maintained a good contact patch, a noticible reduction in grip...
I already have adjustable sway bars, but I forgot which ones. I run them on a high stiffness settings and plan on trying the highest the next time I get on track, but I don't know how to describe their feel here in comparison in a way you can understand. Camber plates are something I'm...
The first part is covered. I plan on getting more track time when Big Willow gets repaved and opens in the fall. These are companies I will definitely look into. I don't really have a problem with the car I'm trying to answer. I'm just trying to make it better than it is currently. If anything...
Increase my cornering ability, mechanical grip, and overall track performance without adding power. I will work on it over the course of a few months as temps start to come down. Cost isn't that big a worry given this time frame, and I would like to keep it under 10,000 for the whole thing...
Some more mods I have, mainly for increasing the reliability:
Steeda Mustang Adjustable Differential Bushing Insert System - Urethane (2015-2026)
Ford Performance Oil Separators for both sides
It's my off-season for tracking, so I thought it would be a perfect time to look into getting some more suspension upgrades, weight reduction, and fine-tuning. I want to increase my cornering ability, mechanical grip, and overall track performance without adding power. I will work on it over the...
This is gonna be a quick thread, but this week I got a notice from the DMV that I need to renew the registration and, along with it, get a smog certification. It's a regular GT350, but I've done a LTH X-pipe resonator delete like on a GT350R, making it OE+. Anyone with experience in this...
Thanks for the feedback. I will try to get one or two more track days in before the hot season really starts, but it completely depends on the weather. For the pants, what do you suggest I wear instead? Also, I saw a lot of people that day wearing race suits, but I don't feel like I really need...
I also agree that in their stock forms, the difference between an R and a non-R version is worth the value. My car has extensive suspension and subframe modifications that put it at least on par with the R in those terms. And my wheels are lightweight forged wheels that are between 20 and 21...
Yeah, I did, but it didn't seem like the right time or really worth the money to flush out now with the C8 Z06, which, lightly used, you can find at a really good deal, the new Grand Sport that was showcased, or even a Dark Horse SC. I really like these cars, and their value today should be a...
It threw up codes P0022 for retarded timing and P0020 for the camshaft position actuator on the left bank, but no check engine light. I still don't know if the engine will need to be replaced, but it's still under warranty, so no big issue.
Also forgot to mention: at the end of the track day, I checked the codes because the engine sounded like a C6 ZR1 with a cam and shook like you're driving over potholes while idle. The engine threw its timing and does have a retarted timing code, and it looks like it happened earlier in the day...
Got a new PB at Willow Springs 2.5-mile Big Willow track over this past weekend. The organization I ran with, Speed Ventures, had their own timing and transponder setup, which says I got a faster time of 1:30.103. I am going with the higher time from my own track timing setup. I filmed both POVs...
Yeah, after looking at some reviews, the Goodyear's look very promising and are at the top of my list, but I always prefer to hear from people who use them in a non-sponsored capacity and on the same car as me.
I regularly go to trackdays as part of their intermediate run groups, and I'm fairly high-paced there, not enough to go advanced or racer, but I definitely can overtake Porches, Corvettes, and BMWs that are in the group. I personally would put myself as a high intermediate, especially on Big...
In a couple of weeks, I'm gonna have a track day at Willow Springs on Big Willow, which has more wide sweeping turns than tighter ones. If you have been on the track, you know what I mean. On my GT350, I'm gonna run 305 30ZR19 Front and 325 30ZR19 Rear. I'm just trying to decide the best tire...
