How was the repair process? Tolerable turn around time? Quality repair? Fair cost? I've heard Spyder takes a while but does good work. What say you?
Edit: Is that a Jackpoint Jack Stand? Good product?
Regarding not wanting to be under a car on typical jack stands, can you fit under the car with any room to move on those Jackpoint stands. Website lists height as 12"-13.5" depending on pad.I shipped it to him on 12/15 and he sent me an invoice that the work was done on 12/31. Sanded, wrapped, painted and shipped to my door for 1100. It took him a couple weeks or so to ship it out and I had to poke him but overall the process was good...you can't even tell the wheel was fixed. There is a reason why he is the only shop that Carbon Revolution recommends for repair. It beats paying 5K for a new one at the dealer or taking a gamble on picking up a used one.
Ya that's a Jackpoint jackstand. I bought a pair when I first got the car and love them. I hate being underneath the car on jack stands so I wanted the safest thing. You'll need a low profile jack that fits them but they're great. I reached out to the guy to order 2 more and I was on a waitlist for like over a year but now I have a full set. It does seem like they're sold out most of the time.
Yeah, I bought one of those specialized hose clamp wrenches when I replaced my coolant tank. They work great. Did everything possible to avoid coolant spill, but still dropped a bunch down into the lower plastic...I switched out the cabin filter, engine filter, and coolant tank for OEM replacement. What a total b to get those hose clamps off in the cold! I didn’t realize they made a HOSE CLAMP TOOL and was instead using pliers. My hands are bloody. All done now and looks great - took the car and all the coolant burned off that I spilled everywhere![]()
If it's deep not much you can do but replace that section. That was the one thing I did not like about the PPF on my GT. Had a bunch of puckered PPF that I couldn't heal flat and it would snag on my detailing rags, sponges, etc... The front clip often gets the most violent hits...Well, after two pain-free years of zero anything damage, got to cars and coffee this morning and see this. Don’t know wtf I hit but something kicked up and bit the snake.
Going to try and get the plastic to settle down and glue it w/ isocyanate, then see if the ppf will relax.
Trying to heal ppf is a new one for me; any thoughts, comments and smart remarks appreciated.

I still got on it, just not 8250 in 1-3 as planned. Rolled into it later on as it warmed back up, all went wellWhat’s wrong with 190°?? you guys are waaayyyy overthinking this cool weather thing.
yeah.. I'm ok at 190... it's not like i can redline it in 2nd-5th anywhere but the track and not be looking over my shoulder...What’s wrong with 190°?? you guys are waaayyyy overthinking this cool weather thing.
A word of warning on PPF?welcome to the club. mine got cut deep though the ppf in the lower section years ago from hitting some shit on a windy day.
Interesting timing. Last night I removed 3.5yr old PPF from the roof of a painted stripe GT500. No damage thankfully. It's a very tedious process and definitely rough on the fingers. I feel for the guy.A word of warning on PPF?
I will be posting this in the main forum as well..
.
Yeah, after having two mustangs in a row with ppf applied I decided to forgo it on the 350.I've only seen that happen on repainted vehicles, but have heard of this from others. Wonder if the issue was because he had a paint-to-match job on his P-car? Also wondering if the lower sill and inner wheel well are non-metallic, and P had an issue with paint bonding to those non-metal pieces? Either way, that does suck and will not be an inexpensive fix.
