You make a really good point:I finely figured out how my car wants to be driven when in any mode other than normal. Normal mode in my car shifts nicely.
In any sport mode the trick for me was first, reset the BMS, that seems to reset the learned shifting as well. Then don't leave from a traffic light right behind the car in front of you. Wait for about 3 car lengths between it and you which will allow the transmission to shift normally as you speed up. If you are too close to the car ahead of you and you need to lift off the gas the rpm will hang for a bit and then slam into the next gear. That becomes what the tranny "learns". Since I did that mine isn't anywhere near as bad as before I did this.

In my experience, properly operating the 10R80 takes time to learn as a driver. The computer reacts uniquely to both throttle and brake inputs, especially in the sportier modes. You do need to get a feel for how it reacts and then control the throttle and brakes accordingly. There's nothing cooler than those downhill corner downshifts with throttle blipping that it'll do under firm braking!
