⚠️ Extremely Disappointed with My 93 Octane Tune ⚠️

I ordered a 93 octane tune from 5 Star Tuning, installed it exactly as directed, and after running a full tank of 93, my car is now making a metal clunking noise every time I accelerate.

It’s honestly unbearable and beyond embarrassing — this is not what I expected after spending good money on a reputable tune.

I’ve double-checked everything and nothing seems out of place. Has anyone else dealt with this or found a fix? I really hope 5 Star steps up and helps sort this out, because right now I’m just disappointed and frustrated.

If you flash back to stock, does the sound go away? I would start there then checking under the car for loose bolts maybe suspension or driveshaft.

Who? Never heard of them and probably for good reason.

Mostly they do ecoboost tuning for F150's, Explorers, Broncos etc.

If you want to continue to use this tune for 5 Star Tuning, contact them about your problem.

You can also run some Octane Booster to see if the car drives better if you think your get pinging.

Me personally, I would have went with some of the reputable tuners represented here on this forum and or Lund.

Oh okay. I assumed the OP had 8 cylinders.

Probably would have been better off posting this in the ecoboost forum.

We are a dealer for 5 Star and never have any issues with those guys and even run them on our personal and shop cars. Id look into flashing back the tune see if it still does it.

I believe it is a v/8 we are talking about.

Also, log the issue and send them a datalog, that is really the proper channel.

Agreed, nothing but good to say about them. Have had several ecoboost f-150s tuned by them.

Flash it back to stock as others have already said. I've personally never heard of a sound like your complaining about after just a tune unless your just unlucky and something broke rite after you loaded the tune best of luck man hope it gets sorted
