I get it, but I worry about the plastic handle breaking more than the actual internals. I know a few folks here locally that have had their plastic handles break.
Well thanks I totally see it now as b4 I could place where it was

It always seemed like putting lipstick on a pig. What's between that lever and the latch is a complete sh1t show. Every time you pull it, you wonder if this is the time the cable snaps leaving me with an immediate problem and a massive job to replace with a hood that can't be opened.
I hate to say it, but replacing that hood latch lever with a steeda brushed aluminum unit is one of the best mods i've done. Every time I would open the hood and feel the plastic one flex it gave me a uneasy feeling. Now I have a peaceful easy feeling (que the eagles... lol).
I also love how it contrasts and is more visible. It just looks so much better and higher quality, even if the bits behind it have some "warts"
My most recent mod of replacing the interior lighting and adding the footwell accent lighting have also been impactful for me. Just a nicer environment inside....
And don't get me started about the cobra puddle lamps being added in 2019!!

Yeah, but always with a backup plan to take the car to the dealer for an oil change (even if I changed it yesterday) if the cable snaps. And then play innocent and outraged if they claim they didn't do it. 🙄

Your fear over the hood latch breaking is quite intriguing. Makes me wonder how you stress over real topics! 🤪
Makes me wonder what else you wonder about.

I have been driving the Shelby this week as celebration for a very stressful yet rewarding last week. It is still, in fact, more fun to drive than my 2010 Accord.

Hit 35k as well, and now due for an oil change 😎

Took some pics and added some cars to the toy stable in the office.

Also, I don't recall posting this but someone left me a gift on my garage door keypad box . . . It's a 60s GT500 but it's the thought that counts 🙂

No need to remove. Just see how easy to pull panel away from tunnel. Compare other side. If dramatic diff easy side's probably missing. Might not even be worth reinstalling but not hard; just multiple pull-to-release tabs.
Yep, it was loose. Luckily the magnetic pin didn't fall off the car 😂😆
